Dr. Dam Quang Minh, Deputy General Director of EQuest shared: " Previously, in Vietnam, many people have the habit of considering Physical Education as a secondary subject, without focusing on investing time or facilities. EQuest Group wants to change this mindset with the most practical activities. We have made strong investments in both facilities, equipment, and teaching quality, as well as a team of experts, with the desire that children are provided with the best and most professional physical education programs, from football, basketball, swimming, and now golf... This is not only a subject for training and improving health, but we also want to aim to find the seeds of sports talent to support and develop right from school."
In addition, potential golf "seeds" will be facilitated to develop their talents through advanced lessons at the extracurricular golf club, held on campus. Next, those who want to study at an advanced level will be supported to connect with leading golf academies, training centers, or experienced coaches, to become professional golfers.
Mr. Vu Anh Long, Director of R&A Youth Golf Development Project said: " Our goal is not for children to play golf really well, but more importantly, in the school environment, children will find joy and passion for the sport through attractive games and competition formats with many friends of the same age... EQuest and efforts to develop school sports
Throughout its development journey, EQuest has always paid attention to school sports with strong investment strategies. Many attractive subjects have been systematically and professionally implemented by the group over the years in its member units such as: Football, basketball, chess, swimming, etc. In 2024, the Group also officially added Pickleball to the curriculum of Isaac Newton Primary School.
Students at EQuest are exposed to professional golf right from school.
In particular, in addition to a team of experienced physical education teachers, EQuest also has the support of coaches who are Vietnam's top sports talents such as former National Team player Pham Nhu Thuan, "Swimmer" Anh Vien, Grandmaster Tu Hoang Thong, and talented female Golfer Ngo Bao Nghi - Head Golf Coach of EQuest.
Talking about the implementation of golf in the K12 system of EQuest, Coach Ngo Bao Nghi shared: " Golf not only helps students practice health and dexterity, but also learn valuable lessons about patience, discipline, honesty, especially listening and understanding themselves. Golf also encourages strategic thinking, the ability to concentrate and make independent decisions - essential skills for success in learning and life . The implementation of golf in schools can be considered one of EQuest's breakthroughs in building and developing school sports".
EQuest's head golf coach Ngo Bao Nghi is instructing students on golf techniques.
In the future, EQuest plans to deploy a variety of meaningful and interesting sports for students, aiming to apply to all high schools of the Group. This not only helps students access sports that have many health and mental values, but also creates a new and interesting physical activity. This can be considered an important turning point, demonstrating EQuest's efforts in discovering and nurturing young sports "seeds".
Pickleball is officially included in the curriculum of Isaac Newton Primary School by EQuest.
An Nhien, a student of class 5A3 at Hanoi Educational Technology Primary School, excitedly shared: " After experiencing golf, I feel very excited. I learned to be more patient because when I want to hit each ball into the hole, I have to be very careful, slow, and listen to my feelings. Golf also helps me to be healthy, flexible, and have a comfortable spirit. When studying, the teachers will calculate the points and give small gifts to the winning team. I feel very excited and look forward to the next lessons ."
With continuous efforts to develop school sports professionally, EQuest hopes to build a strong and energetic young generation. At the same time, by creating a bridge between mass sports and elite sports, EQuest hopes to contribute to spreading the positive sports spirit to the community, joining hands to build a healthier and more dynamic Vietnamese society.
