1,000 banh chung cakes were given by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoang Van Thu ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi to policy households, people in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people and orphans in the area. The Chung cake wrapping program "Spring of Solidarity - Full Tet" in 2025 was organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoang Van Thu ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi today (January 18).
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Long, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoang Van Thu Ward, said that in the second year of organizing the "Spring Solidarity - Full Tet" banh chung wrapping program, the Ward Front received nearly 170 million VND in donations from the Front Working Committees of residential groups, agencies, units, businesses, and philanthropists in the area. Through the program "Spring Solidarity - Full Tet", the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoang Van Thu Ward donated 1,000 banh chung to policy households, people in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people and orphans in the area. In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the Ward also donated 150 gifts of essential necessities and 500,000 VND in cash to disadvantaged households in the area. To wrap 1,000 banh chung, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoang Van Thu ward prepared 4 quintals of rice, 1.5 quintals of mung beans, 1.5 quintals of meat and 6,000 dong leaves. Chung cakes filled with love from the people of Hoang Van Thu ward are given to people in difficult circumstances so that everyone can have a full Tet. The "Spring of Solidarity - Full Tet" banh chung wrapping program received active participation from officials and people in Hoang Van Thu ward. Officers and soldiers of Hoang Van Thu ward police participated in wrapping cakes to give to policy households, people in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people and orphans in the area. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ty, 66 years old, group 11, Hoang Van Thu ward, said that to prepare 1,000 banh chung cakes, the women were present from 5 am to prepare the materials. Although it was hard work, everyone was happy to contribute a small part to help policy families, people in difficult circumstances, lonely elderly people and orphans in the area have a warmer Tet. Mr. Nguyen Van Vong, 85 years old, residential group 11, Hoang Van Thu ward, arranges banh chung before lighting the fire. Many people in Hoang Van Thu ward participated in cooking banh chung. The red-hot pots of banh chung carry the warm feelings of the people of Hoang Van Thu ward for policy families and people in difficult circumstances in the area.
