This morning (June 11), more than 115,000 candidates in Hanoi completed their final exam. Below are the answers to the 2023 Hanoi Math entrance exam for grade 10.
The entrance exam for grade 10 of public high schools in Hanoi for the 2023-2024 school year took place from June 9 to 12. Yesterday, more than 100,000 candidates completed the Literature and Foreign Language exams. According to the assessment of students and teachers, the exam was quite suitable, with the average score of the two subjects ranging from 7 to 8 points. This morning, candidates continued to take the Math exam with a time limit of 120 minutes.
To be considered for admission, candidates must complete all exams, not violate regulations, and not have a score of 0 in any exam. The admission score for non-specialized high schools is the sum of Literature and Math scores multiplied by two, plus Foreign Language and priority scores.
Students who register for specialized schools will take an additional specialized subject test on June 12. The admission score for specialized 10th grade is the sum of the three Math, Literature, and Foreign Language exams and the specialized subject score multiplied by a factor of two.
This year, Hanoi organized 201 exam sites, located at high schools, some middle schools, and vocational training centers. The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also mobilized more than 20,000 teachers to invigilate and grade exams.
The whole city of Hanoi has more than 129,000 junior high school graduates, of which 104,917 candidates registered their first choice to enter public grade 10 (an increase of 1,000 candidates compared to last year), the average competition ratio is 1/1.79. Last year, the competition ratio to enter public grade 10 was 1 to 1.67 on average and in 2021 it is 1 to 1.61. Thus, the competition ratio to enter grade 10 this year is expected to be the highest in the past three years.
The city has about 20,000 officials and teachers working in exam supervision and grading. In addition, there are 590 supervisors at exam sites and more than 1,000 police officers and soldiers performing the task of protecting the exam area.
In hot weather conditions, all examination sites have maximized health care conditions for candidates. The electricity sector is committed to ensuring no power outages at examination sites, all 201 examination sites have backup generators.
To ensure objectivity, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires examination sites to assign invigilators according to the principle that each examination room will have 2 invigilators from 2 different schools; invigilators will not invigilate more than once in one examination room.
During the performance of their duties, members of the examination site must comply with the assignment, comply with the direction of the examination site manager, and properly implement the examination regulations and examination invigilation instructions. The examination site manager is responsible for assigning examination invigilators and members to perform duties at the examination site to ensure that the people are clearly identified, the work is confidential, and the procedures are correct and complete.
