On April 16, according to the reporter's records, provincial road 994 from Long Son roundabout to National Highway 51 (belonging to package 17, Vung Tau city) has been basically completed, ready to be put into operation from April 19. This is one of the key infrastructure projects, contributing to traffic connection, promoting socio-economic development in Long Son area.

According to actual records, the road section has completed the upgrading and expansion work with a smooth, wide asphalt surface, drainage system, signs, road markings and lighting installed synchronously. Traffic on the route has become more convenient, ensuring traffic safety.

The highlight of the route is the median strip covered with green trees, creating a friendly, modern space. On both sides of the road are mangrove forests, bringing a fresh, relaxing feeling to people and vehicles.

The representative of the contractor for package 17 said that the team of engineers and workers worked urgently, speeding up the construction progress of each item, from the road surface, sidewalks to trees and technical infrastructure, helping the project to be completed ahead of schedule.

According to the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Transport Project Management Board, Package 17 is nearly 6km long, with a cross-section of 40.5m, including 6 lanes, 6m wide sidewalks on each side and a 6m wide median strip. When put into operation, the route will help people and businesses in the Long Son area to travel and transport goods more conveniently, contributing to the development of the local economy.

In addition to package 17, many other items on route 994 are also being urgently completed. Notably, Cua Lap 2 bridge (package 20) is undergoing final construction such as paving the bridge surface, installing railings, signs, marking lines, etc. It is expected to be technically opened to traffic at the end of April 2025.

Mr. Hoang Tran Thanh, Deputy Commander of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, said that the project is ahead of schedule by nearly a month, contributing to the celebration of the April 30 - May 1 holiday. Other packages such as the section from National Highway 51 to Cua Lap Bridge, Cay Khe Bridge, the road through Nuoc Ngot Pass, etc. are also making good progress. Many road sections have clearly taken shape, creating the premise for connecting the entire route.

Provincial Road 994 (also known as Vung Tau - Binh Thuan coastal road) is nearly 80km long, divided into 8 packages, of which 5 packages are invested by the Transport Project Management Board. The project aims to upgrade, expand and build new arterial roads along the coast.

When the entire route is completed in the third quarter of 2026, Highway 994 will become a strategic traffic link, connecting Cai Mep - Thi Vai port, Long Thanh international airport, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway and key industrial parks in the region.

In addition, the route also plays an important role in developing coastal tourism, shortening the journey between two major tourist centers, Vung Tau and Phan Thiet, opening up new space for marine economic development.
