Every year on June 21st, we – young reporters – have the opportunity to gather. Over a cup of coffee, we share and confide in each other about the joys and sorrows of journalism. Along that long and glorious path are the tireless efforts, the sweat shed during lunchtimes, and even the tears shed behind the pages of a newspaper…
Having worked for Vnexpress online newspaper for nine years, journalist Le Duc Hung (based in Ha Tinh province) has consistently maintained his high standards. Besides his insightful and multifaceted professional articles, he is also known to readers and colleagues as a skilled photographer. He is never absent from major events in the province, contributing beautiful shots.
Journalist Duc Hung and his wife, journalist Khanh Phuong (who works at Ha Tinh Newspaper), covered the Ha Tinh Planning and Investment Promotion Conference held at the end of May.
“Having been in the profession for nine years, I’ve always viewed journalism not just as a means of livelihood, but as my calling. My wife and I both work in this field; the job is stressful and time-consuming. However, with our shared passion, we always remind ourselves to constantly strive to fulfill the tasks assigned by our agency,” shared journalist Le Duc Hung.
" Agricultural Apple" is the nickname we gave to journalist Thanh Nga, who currently works at the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper. Closely associated with farmers through numerous in-depth articles on agriculture and rural areas, journalist Thanh Nga always jokes: "Rice, sweet potatoes, peanuts, pigs, bamboo, teak, and rosewood are my (my) jobs."
Journalist Thanh Nga and her colleagues worked with the delegation of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development at a livestock farm located in Cam Xuyen district.
There was hard work, sweat, and tears behind the pages of newspapers, but the passion for the profession never faded. Journalist Thanh Nga, and all of us young reporters, never lost the flame of joy and excitement when our meticulously crafted investigative reports and articles that "looked straight and spoke the truth" were approved for publication.
Widely disseminating the Party's views and guidelines on national unity, journalist Hanh Nguyen (Dai Doan Ket Newspaper) has been a sharp writer for over 10 years, residing in Ha Tinh province. Alongside her specialized articles, journalist Hanh Nguyen's critical pieces have also received recognition and high praise from readers and authorities. However, few know that behind those articles were days and months spent traveling throughout the country with a visibly pregnant belly. Some news stories and articles were "produced" right on her deathbed.

Having spent nine years in journalism, journalist Pham Duc (from Thanh Nien newspaper) is considered a prolific writer. He shared his experiences, revealing a range of emotions: "Journalism forces me to travel, from prosperous places to challenging ones. Sometimes, I'm welcomed and treated with respect, but at other times, I face danger, even risking my life. Although I know it's difficult, if I don't take risks and make sacrifices, it's hard to dedicate myself to my work and maintain my passion. In today's era of booming information technology, journalists like me must adapt quickly and change our writing methods. Because as technology becomes more modern and sophisticated, journalists must keep up. But if I still love my profession, dare to overcome all challenges, and persevere, I believe journalism will still bring me many rewards."

The job demands high expertise, and young reporters in Ha Tinh province in particular, and across the country in general, face many pressures: working to make a living, keeping the passion for the profession alive, and upholding the "ethics" of a journalist. These are the shared thoughts of journalist Khac Hien (Head of the Representative Office of Cong Luan Newspaper) - a veteran journalist who has been dedicated to the profession for over 30 years.
“The young generation of reporters in Ha Tinh is clearly maturing, with many writers becoming sharper with age. Our journalism is developing rapidly, and in the era of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation, it demands that reporters and journalists learn a great deal to become versatile and specialized professionals,” journalist Khac Hien expressed.
Journalist Thien Quyen (Life & Law Magazine) always emphasizes that critical articles must be humane and aimed at building and developing the homeland.
According to journalist Khac Hien, revolutionary journalists must have a macro-level perspective, knowing what issues should be reported and what shouldn't. Because some issues are correct but not entirely accurate, reporters must filter information so that each published article contributes to building the homeland. However, nowadays, accurate perspectives on journalism are crucial. Every profession, regardless of its hundreds or thousands of members, has both positive and negative aspects, and we shouldn't use those to judge the overall picture. This will help young reporters and journalists maintain their faith and passion for the profession.
Through their articles, VietNamNet's representative in Ha Tinh has successfully appealed to readers for support and assistance for many disadvantaged individuals in the area, raising billions of VND.
Appreciating the contributions of local and central reporters and journalists working in Ha Tinh province, Mr. Dau Tung Lam, Director of the Department of Information and Communications (DIC) of Ha Tinh, said that currently, there are 10 representative offices and 37 resident reporters registered to operate in the province. This is a team of reporters and journalists that the Department and other relevant agencies highly appreciate for their capabilities and professional qualifications.
In the era of Industry 4.0, the transformation of journalism demands even higher standards from reporters and journalists who possess the necessary dedication, vision, and intelligence. Therefore, the Department of Information and Communications has collaborated with relevant agencies to organize numerous professional training courses for reporters and journalists. Over the years, local and central reporters and journalists have made significant contributions to the development of new rural areas, security and order, and political and social stability in the province.
In addition to their professional activities, every year, the Ha Tinh Press FC, along with other press FCs based in Central Vietnam, organize and participate in sports tournaments to improve health, strengthen solidarity, and keep their passion for the profession alive.
"The Department hopes that in the future, reporters and journalists will continue to work alongside the Department, helping the province to reflect more issues and serve the common goal of building a more developed province," shared the Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ha Tinh province.
