In Binh Thuan, Ham Tien Ward (Phan Thiet) is known to domestic and foreign tourists as the "capital". The ward has a favorable geographical location for tourism development, blessed by nature with a 9km long coastline, starting at Phu Hai Ward and ending at Mui Ne Ward. The coastal tourism route has many beautiful beaches and rich tourism services, attracting more and more domestic and foreign tourists to visit and relax. Along the coastal route in the ward, there are about 81 tourism service businesses.

To achieve that result, in addition to developing the tourism economy, the task of ensuring security and order for people and tourists has always been of interest and closely directed by local authorities. Last weekend, the People's Committee of Ham Tien Ward also held a launching ceremony for the Coastal Tourism Safety Team. The launching ceremony not only marked a step forward in strengthening security and order in coastal tourism areas, but also demonstrated the determination of authorities at all levels in building a safe and friendly tourism environment.

Mr. Ngo Ngoc Dung - Chairman of Ham Tien Ward People's Committee said that in order to contribute to building a civilized lifestyle and urban environment, Ham Tien Ward People's Committee has increased inspection and handling of violations, including acts of encroachment on roads and sidewalks for business and trading, and illegal installation of billboards. Security cameras are installed on some important routes to observe, monitor, and record images of violations of the law. In ensuring local security and order, the ward police force has demonstrated its core and main role, but in reality, with the assigned staff (only 13 comrades), it is not possible to be present at all times and places throughout the ward. In that situation, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the guidance of the Provincial Police, Ham Tien Ward has established a team to ensure the safety of coastal tourism in the ward.

According to the regulations, the main task of the Team is to patrol and monitor activities on the coastal tourism route to promptly detect and handle violations of the law in Ham Tien ward. At the same time, closely coordinate with functional forces and localities to ensure security and order, especially during festivals and major events; propagate and educate the law for people and tourists, raise awareness of law enforcement and maintain security and order. With its establishment, the Team is expected to contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of state management of security and order in the tourism sector. Build the image of a safe and friendly tourist destination, contributing to attracting tourists and developing the local economy. Promote the role of the community in participating in protecting security and order, creating a strong spread and combined strength in ensuring security in the locality.

Mr. Nguyen Nam Long - Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee said that in recent years, the number of tourists coming to the city for sightseeing and tourism has increased. This requires us to do better in ensuring traffic safety and order, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property and that of tourists. Therefore, the establishment of the Coastal Tourism Safety Team by Ham Tien Ward is of great significance in building a movement for the entire people to protect national security, mobilizing the entire political system, mass organizations, key forces and the masses to participate in the fight against crime, social evils and violations of the law. On the other hand, we are ready to participate in rescue and relief, meeting the aspirations of the general public and tourism businesses in the area in particular, determined to build a safe and friendly tourism environment, free of crime and social evils in the locality.

It is known that not only Ham Tien, other localities will soon establish a team to ensure safety of local coastal tourism under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. In Phan Thiet, next will be the wards: Mui Ne, Phu Hai, Binh Hung and Tien Thanh commune, then it will be expanded to tourist areas throughout the province.
