HUE – In the days leading up to Tet, young people in Hue flock to the streets, checking in at landmarks in traditional ao dai and ancient costumes.
On the eve of Lunar New Year 2025, young people in Hue, especially those who love the culture of the ancient capital, chose to wear traditional Vietnamese costumes and ao dai to take souvenir photos. Famous places such as the Imperial City, Thien Mu Pagoda, Truong Tien Bridge or Dong Ba Market become ideal backgrounds for young people's Tet photo albums. The fact that young people choose to wear traditional Vietnamese costumes and ao dai these days shows a cultural story of the intersection between modernity and tradition, when ancient values are associated with the dynamic image of the young generation. Doan Ngoc Nhu Quynh, a female student in Hue City, shared: “Although young people always love new and modern things, we still preserve the traditional values of our homeland. Wearing ao dai or traditional costumes, we feel more graceful.” Hundreds of muses check-in at Hue Imperial City, bringing the spring atmosphere to the relics. Couples holding hands, blending in with the spring atmosphere, creating sparkling and impressive photos. Young people wearing traditional ao dai, holding the national flag, showing love for the country, expressing national cultural identity. The atmosphere in Hue becomes bustling and joyful in the days before Tet when Ao Dai and Ao Ngu Than appear everywhere. Choosing a check-in location in Hue is very simple, especially during the Lunar New Year. Mr. Tran Nhat Binh, a photographer in Hue, said that the demand for photography is increasing as Tet approaches. Many people want to hire photographers to have a neat photo album to celebrate the coming of Spring. Compared to last year, the number of people contacting Mr. Binh to schedule a photo shoot this year has increased significantly. Places in Hue that attract young people to take Tet photos include An Dinh Palace, Tu Hieu Pagoda, Hue Imperial City, etc. On this occasion, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has decorated with flowers and miniature landscapes, creating a Tet atmosphere in the royal palace. When the flower markets and animal mascots on the banks of the Perfume River are completed, people and tourists can visit and take Tet photos. Not only the youth, these days there are many tourists of many different ages who are also graceful, show off their beauty, and pose for photos. This joyful atmosphere contributes to making Hue more dynamic and fresh in the eyes of tourists.
