In recent days, not only in commemorative posts, on status bars, avatars on social networking sites, but also in shops and restaurants, people have proactively redesigned their spaces and products with the national flag, slogans or cultural symbols to celebrate the Liberation Day of the South and National Reunification.
Many young people have simultaneously changed their Facebook and TikTok profile pictures to images of the national flag or portraits combined with historical symbols. Many people choose to take check-in photos with the flag, wear red flag shirts with yellow stars, or pose with “classic revolutionary” posters to spread the spirit of April 30 in a new way. These trends not only create vibrant colors for the April 30 anniversary but also show the pride of young people in the nation's history.
At Thuong Xinh 91 cafe, Hoi Hop ward, Vinh Yen city, the owner decided to “change the look” of the entire space with bright red, combined with the national flag and the Party flag. The takeaway coffee cups with the national flag on them have delighted many customers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong, owner of Thuong Xinh 91 cafe, said: “Every time we celebrate a major national holiday, I want the space of the cafe to not only be a place to relax but also toconvey a message of patriotism to everyone, especially the youth.
My staff and I decorated the space and pasted mini red flags with yellow stars on customers' coffee and drink cups. I didn't expect young people to support so much. Many customers came to check-in, film TikTok clips, helping to spread the spirit of the historic victory day, fostering patriotism in the hearts of every Vietnamese person."
Phung Thi Ngoc, Hoi Hop ward shared: "I feel very happy when I go to enjoy coffee and immerse myself in the atmosphere of a great national holiday. This activity is both familiar and helps us, young citizens, deeply feel the meaning of a great national holiday."
In addition to social networking sites and shops, artificial intelligence (AI) software has also become a powerful tool for young people to express their patriotism. Many young people have created photo sets of “AI dolls” wearing ao dai, T-shirts with the national flag, wearing bucket hats or standing next to historical symbols that are being widely shared. Some young people have even combined their own images in historical contexts to create emotional “time-traveling moments”.
Fashion items are also created with clear messages. Typical examples include T-shirts with images of soldiers, innovative bucket hats, shirts with images of the red flag with a yellow star, tanks entering the Independence Palace, etc. These are both beautiful and "cool" images, worn by young people when going out and taking pictures, bringing a unique nuance and containing many meanings.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, Dong Tam ward expressed: "I personally feel very proud when the love for the homeland and country is spread through seemingly small actions but full of gratitude and appreciation from the next generation to the generation of fathers and brothers who laid down their lives to protect the independence and freedom of the country."
