On May 21, in Hanoi, the "Cultural Seminar: Tea and the World " and the seminar promoting cultural tourism in Guangxi (China) took place.

The event was organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangxi, introducing teas and unique cultural tourism features of Guangxi province.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vuong Quan, Ambassador of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, introduced: Tea is not only an indispensable thing in the lives of Chinese people, but also a habit, a way of life. In parties with friends, meetings, receptions or major holidays, tea acts as a ritual, thereby creating a diverse tea culture: tea rituals, tea drinking customs, tea art, tea cuisine, or tea ceremony. People use tea to tell stories, express emotions through tea, convey emotions about the pursuit of life, feelings for friends, relatives and country in literary works, paintings, music , leaving behind many excellent works and touching stories.

Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, said: In 2023, Vietnam welcomed more than 1.7 million Chinese visitors, recovering 30% compared to 2019. In the first 4 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed nearly 1.25 million visitors. China, recovered more than 73% compared to the same period in 2019. Vietnam also sent many tourist groups to China. The number of tourist exchanges between the two sides has recovered significantly in recent times but is still not commensurate with the friendship and good relations between the two sides. However, the potential for tourism development of both sides is still very large and needs to be further exploited.

China and Vietnam has a long-standing tea culture, the tea of ​​both countries has its own characteristics, unique flavors, and colorful customs.

Guangxi tea is an important part of Chinese tea culture. Guangxi and Vietnam are important tourist destinations for each other. The cultural and tourism industries of both sides have cooperated closely, actively promoted mutually beneficial policies, exchanged tourist resources, and promoted each other's tourism products, aiming to realize the "two-way" flow of tourists.
