Introducing Central Highlands culture in Hanoi

NDO - The public in the capital will be immersed in the sounds of gongs, cymbals and many other unique cultural features of the Central Highlands people through the music and folk art program "The Call of the Highlands" and the opera "Aspiration of Dam San" which will be held in Hanoi.

These activities are organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi.

Taking place on the evening of April 12 at the Ba Kieu Temple flower garden stage, located in the walking space of Hoan Kiem Lake, “The Call of the Highlands” brings to the public the characteristics as well as the diverse and rich traditional cultural values ​​of the Central Highlands; the rich and unique folk songs of the Central Highlands ethnic groups blend with bamboo and rattan musical instruments and the sounds of gongs and cymbals… of the great forest atmosphere.

The organizers will spend a large amount of time introducing the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space - a World Cultural Heritage recognized by UNESCO.

On the evening of April 13, at Cong Nhan Theater, 42 Trang Tien, Hanoi , artists will perform the opera "Khat vong Dam San" based on the epic Dam San - a work that is considered to be on par with famous heroic works of the world.

On the basis of the epic Dam San, the artists have created new details with messages praising the beauty of human love in harmony with nature, especially praising the aspirations and romantic but also heroic beauty of the Ede people in the Central Highlands.

The opera was performed by the Dak Lak Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe to contribute to restoring and preserving the Ede culture through music and visual theater, and is expected to become a unique and distinctive cultural tourism product of the legendary Central Highlands.
