Introducing the General Secretary's book on the path to socialism in 7 languages

On the afternoon of May 19th, the Central Propaganda Department, in coordination with the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work and the National Political Publishing House, organized a ceremony to announce and introduce the book "Some Theoretical and Practical Issues on Socialism and the Path to Socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, published in seven languages: English, Chinese, Lao, Russian, French, Spanish, and Dutch.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work, attended and presided over the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Thinh, Deputy Director and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, stated that the book "Some Theoretical and Practical Issues on Socialism and the Path to Socialism in Vietnam" (Vietnamese version), launched to readers on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2022), is one of the publications with a strong and far-reaching influence of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

To date, nearly 30,000 copies of this edition have been printed and distributed. The book is a valuable document, summarizing the theoretical framework of the reform process and the unique creative developments of the Communist Party of Vietnam regarding the model of socialism in Vietnam, based on the creative application of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought.

Therefore, immediately after its release, the book received positive reviews and widespread attention from the public both domestically and internationally, as well as deep interest from researchers, scholars, and readers in various countries.

This formed the basis for the idea of organizing the translation and publication of this book into foreign languages, initially in seven languages, with the aim of spreading the political significance and guiding values of the book, contributing to the dissemination of the views, policies, and guidelines of the Vietnamese Party and State on socialism and Vietnam's path to socialism to the world.

This will help international friends, readers both at home and abroad, and Vietnamese expatriates to better understand Vietnam's country, people, culture, and its reform and development.

Introducing the General Secretary's book on the path to socialism in 7 languages - 2 — The book "Some Theoretical and Practical Issues on Socialism and the Path to Socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has been published in seven languages: English, Chinese, Lao, Russian, French, Spanish, and Dutch.

Highly appreciating the idea of translating and publishing the book in seven languages by the National Political Publishing House, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia said that currently, many international friends and foreign publishers have expressed their desire and proposed to translate this book into their native languages.

Therefore, the National Political Publishing House could coordinate with relevant agencies to research and assess the level of public interest in the book in various countries, and then propose further translations into other languages to serve research on the people and country of Vietnam, on the theory of socialism in Vietnam, and to help the book reach people in countries around the world. For Vietnam, this would also be a very powerful and effective channel for external communication.

According to the Head of the Central Propaganda Department, the publication and introduction of the General Secretary's book in seven foreign languages today has both political and historical-cultural significance. He hopes that the book in different languages will continue to spread its valuable values, helping international friends to better understand Vietnam's policies and guidelines for national renewal and development, and contributing to strengthening and consolidating friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.

“We sincerely hope that representatives of foreign diplomatic missions in Vietnam will act as an ‘extended arm’ to help this book reach the people and readers in their respective countries. Following today’s launch, we request that the National Political Publishing House continue to cooperate with Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to fulfill the mission of disseminating the book’s content ,” Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia stated.
