NDO - On the morning of November 13, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province to hold a press conference to introduce the Ministry of National Defense-level scientific conference "60 years of Binh Gia Victory - Historical values and lessons learned".
Representatives of the leaders of the Propaganda Department (General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army), the Military History Institute, the Central Propaganda Department, and the Propaganda Department of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee co-chaired the press conference.
Speaking at the opening of the press conference, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, affirmed that the Binh Gia Victory has gone down in the history of the Vietnamese people's resistance war against the US to save the country as one of the important milestones for the failure of the "Special War" Strategy, a part of the US imperialists' global military strategy of "flexible response" applied to the battlefield in South Vietnam.

The Binh Gia victory created a new position and force, contributing to accelerating the bankruptcy of the US imperialists' "Special War" Strategy. The victory had great strategic significance, with far-reaching influence at home and abroad; affirming the spirit of determination to fight, determination to win, daring to fight and defeat the invading US aggressors of our army and people. In particular, the important role of the armed forces of the Liberation of South Vietnam in leading and conducting the revolutionary war. It was truly a decisive blow, contributing to the failure of the national policy of "strategic hamlets", the "backbone" issue in the US imperialists' "Special War" Strategy and the tactics of "armored transport" and "helicopter transport" of the US-puppet.
60 years have passed, but the great historical value of the Binh Gia Victory continues to become invaluable lessons, especially in the art of campaigning, using forces, applying fighting methods as well as combat operations, having a great influence for military agencies and units to apply in training practice for officers and soldiers today, meeting the requirements of modern warfare.

The workshop aims to continue to affirm and clarify the correct and wise leadership and direction of the Party Central Committee, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, directly the Central Bureau and the Regional Command - the decisive factor in the victory of Binh Gia; provide new documents, profound scientific arguments and foundations to clarify the preparation process, the development of the campaign, the role and coordination of the forces participating in the campaign.
This is an opportunity to propagate and educate the tradition of revolutionary struggle, foster patriotism and national pride for cadres, soldiers of the entire army and people, especially the young generation; at the same time, draw lessons and creatively apply them to the current practice of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
At the press conference, representatives of the Military History Institute, the Central Propaganda Department, and the Propaganda Department of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee provided information about the theme, purpose, significance, content, program, and activities preparing for the conference; information about activities related to the propaganda work to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Binh Gia Victory of the army and people nationwide; achievements in socio-economic development, consolidation and enhancement of national defense, security, and foreign affairs of the Party Committee, government, armed forces, and people of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province after 60 years of the Binh Gia Victory.
The above workshop will take place on the morning of November 22, in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
