Introducing the precious book of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work attended and chaired the ceremony.

The book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" (Vietnamese version) was introduced to readers on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 / February 3, 2022), is one of the publications with strong and profound influence by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The book selects 29 typical articles and speeches of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, focusing on the following key contents: Step by step realizing the path to socialism; consistently implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and activities for the benefit of the people, in the spirit of "First support, then support", "One call, all respond", "Unanimously above and below", "Constantly across"; upholding dignity and honor as the most sacred and noble things; affirming the unique foreign policy and diplomacy school of "Vietnamese bamboo", with firm roots, strong trunk, flexible branches; emphasizing that culture is the soul of the nation, as long as culture exists, the nation exists.

The content of the book becomes an important orientation to help cadres, party members and people better understand socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam, creating ideological unity in the whole society, promoting the strength of great national unity to realize the strategic goals that the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and our people have chosen.

Through Vietnamese embassies and diplomatic representative agencies abroad, the book has attracted deep attention from researchers, scholars and readers of many countries, which is the basis for the idea of organizing the translation and publication of this book in foreign languages, initially in 7 main foreign languages (English, Chinese, Lao, Russian, French, Spanish and Dutch).

The implementation of the idea of publishing the book in foreign languages has received the support, consensus and close cooperation of many central agencies and departments; the participation of a team of experts, translators and prestigious collaborators from the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, the University of Foreign Languages - Hanoi National University, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Academy of Military Science... In particular, native experts from Laos, China, Canada, Cuba, Russia... who always love and are close to the country and people of Vietnam, understand the language and political characteristics of Vietnam, have expertise in political science, have been invited to review the translations of the languages.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the idea of translating and publishing the book in 7 foreign languages of the Truth National Political Publishing House and acknowledged the efforts of the team of prestigious experts and translators from major agencies and ministries; and local experts. Over the past year, the team of experts and translators has completed the task of conveying and disseminating the political meaning, values, and orientation of the book, contributing to the dissemination of the viewpoints, policies, and guidelines of the Party and State of Vietnam on socialism and the path to socialism to the world; helping domestic readers, overseas Vietnamese and international friends better understand the country - people, innovation and development of Vietnam. In addition to the traditional paper version, there is also an electronic version, making it easier and more widely accessible to the book. This is also one of the breakthroughs of the Truth National Political Publishing House, responding to the development trend of the publishing industry, elevating and specializing in book publishing, and shortening the maximum time to reach readers.

Translator Bui Thu Ha, lecturer at the Faculty of Russian Language and Culture, University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on behalf of the team of translators and experts, expressed her honor and pride in participating in the project of translating the works of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Translator Bui Thu Ha said that in order to ensure that she could properly convey the profound theoretical thoughts of the General Secretary, she spent time reading and learning many other works of the General Secretary in Vietnamese, and reading books on Marxism-Leninism in Russian to ensure that her knowledge of both Vietnamese and Russian was sufficient to serve the translation work. The team of translators spent a lot of effort to research the profound meanings of the sayings, expressing them in pure Vietnamese, and translating them in the most accurate way, ensuring both the content and the rhythm into Russian.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang was impressed that in just one year, relevant agencies had published the book in 7 foreign languages, including Lao. The Ambassador emphasized: The valuable book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will be a valuable reference document on socialism and the path to socialism that Laos can learn from; at the same time, he believed that schools, Party agencies, and Lao authorities will soon read the General Secretary's work.
