This document clearly states that the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway Project has been invested in by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) and is collecting tolls.
To ensure smooth investment in expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway section, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Finance to urgently propose an investment plan to expand the above-mentioned route (including specific and special mechanisms according to the provisions of the law on public investment, construction, bidding and state budget) and complete the necessary procedures as soon as possible to assign VEC to invest in expanding the above-mentioned route in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Public Investment 2024, ensuring the completion of the project in 2026; report to the Prime Minister before April 15, 2025.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project is nearly 22km long. The starting point is at Km4+000 (Ring Road 2 Intersection) in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City; the ending point is at Km25+920 (Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Intersection) in Long Thanh District, Dong Nai Province.
In the proposed expansion section, the section from the Ring Road 2 intersection to the Ring Road 3 intersection (Km4+00 to Km8+770) will have 8 lanes according to the plan. The section from the Ring Road 3 intersection to the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway intersection (Km8+770 to Km25+920) will have 10 lanes according to the plan.
For Long Thanh bridge, we will invest in building a new bridge unit with the same scale as the current bridge, organizing traffic exploitation with a scale of 10 lanes. With this plan, the total estimated investment of the project is more than 15 trillion VND.
