On the morning of March 26, at the Vinschool Time City High School Library, Hanoi, a special exchange program called "Truong Sa - where we come from" organized by Kim Dong Publishing House in coordination with the My Home Book Project and the school opened up opportunities for students to learn more vividly and deeply about the Truong Sa archipelago, and at the same time, it was an opportunity for artists to share and connect memorable stories about the remote but extremely sacred islands of the Fatherland.

The program has the participation of three special guests: poet Tran Dang Khoa, writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy, journalist Nguyen My Tra - people who have real experiences with Truong Sa. In particular, the students present in the program also play the role of "young reporters" accompanying, recording each story and emotion.

Exchange

Poet Tran Dang Khoa interacts with students.

At the beginning of the program, MC Thuy Duong, Head of the My House Book Project, led the students on a special voyage to Truong Sa through systematic data, conveyed in an attractive and lively way. Interesting questions were raised, such as explaining the meaning of place names so that each child could better understand the history, location and sovereignty of the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

With the aim of bringing profound human values, we are proud to organize a series of exchange programs about the sea and islands, where each participant will share stories, knowledge, emotions... to better understand the important role of the sea and islands in all aspects. This is also an opportunity for young generations and families to connect, spread love and responsibility, thereby arousing national pride and promoting joint efforts to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland.

"Truong Sa - where we come" is both an exchange program and an opportunity for students and guests to share their feelings and experiences about their homeland's sea and islands, while also arousing pride and a sense of responsibility to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland.

Exchange

National sovereignty evokes many emotions.

During the exchange, the students were shown vivid and touching images of Truong Sa that were carefully prepared. Literary works by poet Tran Dang Khoa, writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy or photos by journalist Nguyen My Tra brought readers and viewers to Truong Sa through broad perspectives, depicting the majestic natural beauty and the arduous but resilient life of the island's soldiers.

Poet Tran Dang Khoa - who spent a long time as a soldier on Truong Sa island - mentioned the immortal symbol of Truong Sa, Gac Ma, where our navy soldiers heroically sacrificed their lives to protect the sovereignty of the islands. The guests shared, interacted, and re-enacted the tragic emotions of the Gac Ma incident on March 14, 1988.

Exchange

Writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy (middle) received the attention of many students.

Writer Le Luu once commented on the work "Sunken Island" by poet Tran Dang Khoa: "In my opinion, 'Sunken Island' is a genius pen, because ordinary stories, anyone who goes to the island will see them or not see them, but they naturally exist and still seem real... The ideas of the work have gone beyond specific stories, seemingly very trivial. That is why it has an appeal to readers. And no matter how strict I am, I still have to evaluate these as wonderful pages of literature."

Having worked in Truong Sa archipelago, writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy shared his feelings about the islands that he experienced, highlighting the wild, majestic and majestic natural beauty, as well as the diversity of marine life. Through the book "I tell you the story of Truong Sa" published by Kim Dong Publishing House, which has been reprinted many times, he hopes to convey to the younger generation his love and respect for the islands, while emphasizing the responsibility to preserve and protect the islands of the Fatherland.

With his knowledge and feelings, through "I tell you stories about Truong Sa", writer Nguyen Xuan Thuy tells readers about the sea, waves, plants, animals and the lives of soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago... Many interesting, strange and fascinating stories about phong ba trees, storm trees, dolphins, flying fish... along with heroic and tragic stories, heroic and brave examples and the losses and sacrifices of our ancestors in the cause of protecting and preserving the sacred archipelago of the Fatherland.

Exchange

Many emotions were expressed respectfully and fully.

It is a lively, emotional book with a capacity of less than 100 pages but contains countless interesting things. Readers will clearly feel that Truong Sa is not far away, and thousands of miles of Truong Sa are right before their eyes. Commenting on the work, Doctor of Education Nguyen Thuy Anh once said that writer-soldier Nguyen Xuan Thuy has a gentle writing style, a delicate descriptive voice, full of interesting observations and associations close to children's thinking. Here and there, there are pleasant humorous smiles. "I Tell You the Story of Truong Sa" was awarded the 2012 Golden Book Award by the Vietnam Publishing Association.

Sharing about the journey of taking photos on the islands, clarifying the story behind the pictures and the difficulties in the process of working, journalist Nguyen My Tra helped the students visualize Truong Sa more vividly through photos. The students participated in reporting the photos, from images of landmarks, lighthouses to the daily life of soldiers on the remote islands.

Exchange

Kim Dong Publishing House has launched the Vietnam Sea and Island Bookshelf with many good works carrying important messages and meanings.

An important part of the program is that students are invited to share their feelings about the books and stories about Truong Sa that they have studied and read. Students do not hesitate to share their thoughts and feelings about Truong Sa, about their love for their homeland, about the things they have learned from literary works.

The guests also shared their profound memories of Truong Sa. Poet Tran Dang Khoa talked about the days spent at the forefront of the storm, about the images of soldiers struggling to protect the sea and islands, about the quiet but determined nights of guarding. Journalist Nguyen My Tra recalled her time working in Truong Sa, stories about the resilience and special willpower of the soldiers.

The program ended with a quick discussion, where MC Thuy Duong and students discussed plans and specific actions that the younger generation can take to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands. Students boldly proposed initiatives such as: donating books, writing letters to soldiers, making propaganda videos about Truong Sa, as well as pledging to take action to protect the sea and islands. Many students also wrote sincere messages on the general commitment board, expressing their love and responsibility for their homeland's sea and islands.

The program is both a meaningful exchange activity and an emotional journey, helping the young generation better understand Truong Sa, Hoang Sa, and the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. This is an opportunity for the young generation to love, respect and commit to protecting the homeland's sea and islands; at the same time, building a sense of responsibility and national pride, inspiring strong feelings and more specific actions.
