
On the evening of April 18, the Department of Folk Songs and Traditional Music ( Voice of Vietnam ) in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong; associations, groups and clubs of Cheo lovers across the country opened the program "The 10th National Exchange of Cheo Lovers".
At the opening night, more than 500 artists, actors, and Cheo art lovers from 35 clubs from 22 provinces and cities, along with a large number of Hai Duong people, attended.
Artists, actors, and Cheo lovers performed 20 Cheo pieces with the theme of homeland and country, praising the Party, Uncle Ho, and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
The program "The 10th National Exchange of Cheo Art Lovers" took place from April 18 to 20 at the Hai Duong Provincial Cultural and Art Center.


During the 3 days, artists, actors, and Cheo lovers will perform 120 pieces, along with guest artists and famous Cheo composers, promising to bring many emotions to Cheo lovers. This is also an opportunity for artists, actors, and Cheo lovers to meet, exchange, interact, and learn from each other's experiences.



The program aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Voice of Vietnam (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025), broadcast live on VOV3 channel (frequency 102.7 Mhz).
Hai Duong is located in the Eastern Cheo region, where the art of Cheo singing developed early, was preserved and conserved, and is also the hometown of the founder of Cheo stage art Pham Thi Tran and artists who have made great contributions to the development of Cheo art nationwide such as: the late People's Artist Trum Thinh, Trinh Thi Lan, Nguyen Thi Minh Ly...

Hai Duong province currently has over 130 established Cheo clubs. Many teams and groups of Cheo enthusiasts in villages and residential areas regularly practice and participate in activities. Hai Duong is also actively preparing a dossier to request the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include Cheo in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List and coordinate with Thai Binh province to prepare a Cheo Art dossier to submit to UNESCO for recognition as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
