In 1952, the French colonialists' attacks became increasingly fierce. The long-term resistance of our people encountered many arduous challenges. In early 1952, the Military Intelligence Department and the General Staff moved to a new location in La Cut hamlet, La Bang commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province.

Here, the Intelligence Department gradually unified the tasks, principles, nature and methods of operation of the entire industry nationwide. Intelligence methods and forces were gradually formed and developed. The subordinate intelligence departments were constantly consolidated and expanded their scope of operations on the Central and Southern battlefields, and even on the battlefields of Laos and Cambodia, in order to improve work efficiency and news quality.

To mark the milestones of the journey of building, fighting and growing up of Vietnam's Defense Intelligence in the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, in 2000, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the tradition of Vietnam's Defense Intelligence, implementing the policy of the Standing Committee of the General Department Party Committee, and at the same time receiving the attention and support of the government and people of Thai Nguyen province, General Department II built the Defense Intelligence Memorial Monument in Dong Tien village, La Bang commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province. This is where the 3rd National Intelligence Conference (March 10, 1948) and the 4th National Intelligence Conference (August 28, 1949) took place.

Practically celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; the 80th anniversary of National Day, especially the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam Defense Intelligence Traditional Day (October 25, 1945 / October 25, 2025), General Department II organized the restoration of the historical relic of the Vietnam Defense Intelligence Memorial Stele. The inauguration of the project has practical significance, demonstrating the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source, forever remembering President Ho Chi Minh 's contributions to Intelligence, being grateful to the local Party Committee, government, people and generations of Defense Intelligence officers and soldiers for the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party.
