Today's world oil prices
Global oil prices fluctuated sharply last week, falling continuously in the early trading sessions before surging strongly towards the end of the week. At the close of trading last week, WTI crude oil was at $76.60 per barrel, falling to $74.96 per barrel this week. Overall for the week, WTI crude oil decreased by $1.64 per barrel, or 2.1%, compared to the previous week.
Brent crude oil was at $79.58 per barrel at the end of last week, falling to $79.02 per barrel this week. Overall for the week, Brent crude oil decreased by $0.53 per barrel, or 0.7%, compared to the previous week.
Thus, with the volatile movements in world oil prices during the week, continuously falling in the early sessions and rising sharply towards the end of the week, overall for the past week, oil prices only decreased slightly for Brent crude and increased significantly for WTI crude.
According to analysts, the US Federal Reserve is on track to cut interest rates in September. The dollar, in particular, has been sold off following news of the rate cut. Meanwhile, the dollar has recently supported oil prices by making oil cheaper for buyers using other currencies. In addition, US crude oil inventories have fallen sharply and are projected to continue declining in the third quarter.

On August 25th, the retail prices of gasoline and diesel fuel, according to Petrolimex 's published price list in Zone 1 and Zone 2 (applied to 46 provinces and cities), are as follows:
The aforementioned domestic retail prices of petroleum products were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Trade at the price adjustment session on the afternoon of August 22nd. Accordingly, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 540 VND/liter; E5 and RON 92 gasoline decreased by 460 VND/liter; diesel decreased by 460 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 430 VND/liter; and mazut decreased by 490 VND/kg.

Pvoil applies the following discounts on August 25th: Diesel: 1,750 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,550 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,350 VND/liter. These discounts apply at Pvoil Dinh Vu, Petec An Hai, and Cai Lan depots.
Tu Luc fuel company's discounts on August 25th are as follows: Diesel: 1,700 VND/liter; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,500 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter.
MIPEC fuel price discounts on August 25th: Gasoline 95-III: 1,200 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,000 VND/liter; diesel: 1,850 VND/liter.
Forecast of domestic gasoline and diesel prices for the next period.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic gasoline and diesel prices will fluctuate according to the global oil situation. Based on current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, gasoline and diesel prices may reverse and increase compared to the previous adjustment period.
Since the beginning of the year, starting from the price adjustment on January 4th, gasoline prices have increased 17 times and decreased 16 times. Diesel prices have increased 16 times and decreased 17 times.
