Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu said that he has directed the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City and districts, and public high schools in the city to be ready to receive students from the American International School.

According to Mr. Hieu, from August 26, public schools will return to school. As the new school year is approaching, ensuring students’ rights must be a top priority.

Therefore, parents should not wait for the American International School to be qualified to resume operations, but should quickly carry out the transfer procedures to ensure the continuity of their children's education. If parents encounter financial difficulties or difficulties in carrying out the transfer procedures, the public school system will create all conditions to receive students from the American International School.

The American International School was suspended by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training due to its inability to teach after defaulting on a debt of more than VND3,600 billion. Currently, the school has only 10 foreign teachers and 18 Vietnamese teachers. The school has not yet had a new principal because it is proposing to review the school board. The school's investor has not yet provided documents proving sufficient financial resources to ensure the maintenance and development of educational activities.

Recently, despite being suspended, the American International School still has some activities to prepare for the new school year. The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires this school to comply with current regulations, and during the suspension period, the school is not allowed to organize any educational activities.

There are still more than 700 students who have not transferred. More than 250 others have confirmed their transfer but have not yet paid tuition to the new school.
