The "9 Faces of the APAC Beauty Industry 2024" award is an initiative initiated by in-cosmetics Asia , to honor 9 individuals who have made significant contributions to the cosmetics, beauty and personal care industry in the Asia-Pacific region, recognizing innovators, creators, and individuals who work quietly but create great impact in the industry.
Passion for cosmetics
In 2014, after graduating from Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture, Bao Tin started his career with a degree in graphic design.
However, during his work, the young man found a greater passion in the cosmetics industry. He was fascinated by the designs of beauty products, from the outer packaging to the texture and ingredients inside.
"The more I learned about this field, the more passionate I became and realized that I was strongly inspired to create beauty products that harmoniously combine the aesthetics of the packaging and the magical functions of the ingredients inside. That is what led me to enter the cosmetics industry and stick with it until now," Tin shared.
Currently, Bao Tin is the product director of the vegan cosmetics brand Cocoon, which is familiar to young people.
Expectations to bring Vietnamese brands to the international market
Sharing about the beauty industry trends in the Asia-Pacific region, Tin said that the two most important keys are sustainability and transparency. Consumers are increasingly concerned about the products they use, especially how these products affect the environment. The demand for natural, environmentally friendly and cruelty-free cosmetics is growing strongly.
With the desire to build a Vietnamese cosmetic brand to reach the international market, currently, Bao Tin and its associates continue to bring products to difficult markets such as the US, Canada and many Asian countries.
"For us, beauty is not just about creating products that make us beautiful, but those products must be truly good for our health and friendly to the natural environment," Tin said.
"I hope that one day in the near future, Vietnamese consumers can be proud of their domestic products and prove to the world that Vietnamese cosmetics can reach the same high standards as many other international products," he shared.
Honoring contributions to the cosmetics industry
The other eight finalists are from Japan, India, New Zealand, Switzerland, China, Indonesia, and Israel. The awards are judged on innovation, ability to address market needs, commitment to sustainability, and contributions to education in the cosmetics industry.
