On August 24, 2024, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex/Group) organized the 2024 Petrolimex Parent Company Sports Tournament with the participation of 120 athletes from Petrolimex, the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel), Vietnam Post Corporation (Vnpost) and Club 95 Kim Ma. The athletes gave beautiful matches, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and fair-play.
Attending the opening ceremony, on the guest side were Mr. Nguyen Hung Son - Deputy Secretary of the Vnpost Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Son - Head of Motorcycle Department of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group; Mr. Truong Huu Truong - Chairman of the 95 Kim Ma Club and leaders of the functional departments of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel), Vietnam Post Corporation (Vnpost).
On the Petrolimex side, there were Deputy Secretary of the Group's Party Committee Dang Tran Hieu, Deputy General Director of the Group Nguyen Xuan Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Petroleum Trade Union Nguyen Thanh Son, Chairman of the Group's Trade Union - Head of the organizing committee Tran Van Giang, representatives of leaders of departments, offices and the Petrolimex Youth Union.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Petrolimex Deputy General Director Nguyen Xuan Hung emphasized that the 2024 Petrolimex Open Sports Tournament aims to create a healthy playground, contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual life, connecting units together and helping to strengthen solidarity in the spirit of mutual development. The Petrolimex Sports Tournament is also a meaningful activity, joining in the bustling and exciting atmosphere with the whole country to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of September 2 of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Besides the "king sport" - football, the 2024 Petrolimex Open Sports Tournament also witnessed dramatic competitions in table tennis and tennis. The football event was held at the football field of the University of Water Resources with 04 participating teams, competing in a knockout format. The tennis and table tennis events were held at the Thanh Xuan District Cultural House. In particular, the tennis event was played in doubles format with 18 pairs of athletes competing. The table tennis event attracted 14 athletes participating in the men's singles, men's doubles and mixed doubles events.
The athletes brought many beautiful, high-speed moves in an extremely attractive competitive atmosphere. The 2024 Petrolimex Parent Company Sports Tournament was a great success, leaving many deep impressions and affirming the growth of Petrolimex's cultural and sports movement.
