The rich, vibrant practical experience and positive results of the national construction and defense; of the Party building and rectification work; and the unity and trust of the people are valuable materials and unlimited sources of inspiration for creating high-quality journalistic works… This was one of the points in the Prime Minister 's speech at the 8th Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award Ceremony in 2023.
1. At the 8th Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award Ceremony in 2023, which took place during the days when the entire Party, army, and people were commemorating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, speaking on behalf of the Party and State leadership, emphasized that looking back at 2023 and more than half of the 13th Party Congress term, despite facing unprecedented difficulties and challenges in the domestic and international context, under the leadership of the Party, and regularly and directly under the Politburo and the Secretariat, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, with high will, determination, great efforts, decisive action, and the spirit of "leading the way," "one call, all respond," "unity from top to bottom," and "smooth communication," the entire Party, people, and army have upheld the spirit of solidarity, working together, innovating, and creating. Our country has achieved significant results in various fields with many outstanding achievements, highly appreciated by the international community. The Prime Minister emphasized that the results achieved in 2023 and the first half of the 13th Party Congress term have contributed to the important and historically significant achievements in nearly 40 years of reform and in the revolutionary cause of our Party, our people, and our nation over the past nearly 95 years, under the glorious banner of the Party. The rich, vibrant reality and positive results of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; of the work of building and rectifying the Party; and the unity and trust of the people are valuable materials and unlimited inspiration for creating high-quality journalistic works. Through 8 editions, the National Journalism Award on Party Building, named "Golden Hammer and Sickle," has affirmed its value, attractiveness, and widespread influence on Party building, the construction of the political system, and the building of the cadre team. At the same time, it affirms the profound political awareness, professional ethics, and unwavering revolutionary loyalty of journalists nationwide, worthy of President Ho Chi Minh's teaching: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers"...

While the Central Committee's "Golden Hammer and Sickle Award" for Party Building Journalism has been held eight times, in Binh Thuan province, the "Red Flag Award" for Party Building Journalism, initiated by the Provincial Party Standing Committee, is organized annually under the direction of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and in 2023 it was held seven times. Through this award, the role of media agencies, cadres, Party members, and the people in building the Party and the political system has been promoted; preventing and combating ideological and political degradation, moral decay, and lifestyle deviations, as well as manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; and strengthening the close relationship between the Party and the people has been enhanced. The 7th Binh Thuan Provincial Red Flag Award in 2023 attracted 85 entries from 22 agencies and units. According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, many authors invested considerable effort in their entries, adhering to the theme, genre, structure, layout, and journalistic writing style requirements. The content focused on issues related to the leadership role of Party committees and exemplary cases in socio-economic development. Many authors also explored and summarized practical experiences, developed theories; summarized good practices and innovative approaches; discovered new issues and unique models; and reflected on good deeds and the fight against corruption. Through this, they provided guidance for relevant provincial agencies and departments to address and resolve issues; some works had a wide reach, creating a profound impression and contributing to raising awareness of the Party and strengthening the trust of cadres, Party members, and the people in the Party and the State. At the 7th Red Flag Award Ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh – Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Party – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: "The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system to be clean and strong is not only the task of Party committees and organizations at all levels, but also requires the active participation of the entire political system and the people, including the press. To effectively participate in Party building, press agencies and professional and non-professional journalists need to correctly understand the Party's policies on Party building, proactively and actively follow the practical situation to promptly reflect the results of Party building and rectification work in localities and units. From there, they should discover good practices and models to commend and replicate; at the same time, they should fight against and criticize bad things, negative phenomena, and cases that go against the Party's guidelines and policies, violate the law, and are contrary to the customs and traditions of the Vietnamese nation…"
It can be affirmed that the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award launched by the Central Committee and the Red Flag Award of Binh Thuan province have increasingly asserted their prestige and position in the national and provincial journalism award systems, rightfully deserving to be "a forum for expressing the viewpoints, theories, proud history, beliefs of the people and the rich practical activities of our Party" as affirmed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. Building on the achievements already made, we believe that the team of journalists will continuously explore, innovate, and create to produce more excellent, practical works that spread vitality and contribute more to Party building, while also actively contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
