The Young Wave Journalism Award was established to motivate and encourage journalism students in particular, and students and trainees of the Academy of Journalism and Communication in general, to actively practice and create informative and objective journalistic works, addressing current issues related to all areas of life, especially those related to the study and life of students and young people today.
Nearly 300 press works of various genres were submitted to the Organizing Committee for the competition. The 8th Wave Youth Press Awards has 6 award categories, including: Television Newspaper Category, Radio Newspaper Category, Online Newspaper Category; Printed Newspaper Category; Photo Newspaper Category; Young Film Category. This time, the number of works participating in the competition in the Television category is the highest with more than 100 works.
The quality of the entries this year is quite good, with rich and diverse themes reflecting multi-dimensional life. In particular, there have been many works reflecting the country's mainstream news such as: Themes on the issue of the Southern Liberation Day on April 30; themes on the environment and climate change; issues of labor and employment; traffic safety; issues of preserving national cultural identity or aspects close to young people, to the study and living life of students.
The awards for outstanding works this time are a recognition of the efforts of the authors and groups of authors whose works meet the requirements of the genre, ensure quality, have good content and have invested in the form of expression. "I hope and believe that the results of your efforts today are like "sparks" that help "ignite" your enthusiasm, increase your energy in studying, training and striving so that you will soon become journalists with solid capacity, expertise, dedication and talent in the future" - Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Son said.
Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Minh Son hopes that in the coming years, when the Young Wave Journalism Award takes place, the Organizing Committee will receive more quality works demonstrating the bravery, creativity, and dynamism of students of the Academy of Journalism and Communication.
The Young Wave Journalism Award is one of the prestigious awards of the Academy of Journalism and Communication. The award has created opportunities for students to demonstrate their talents and passion for journalism while still in school. This will become a premise for development, motivation and encouragement for students to actively participate in creating journalistic works.
