Unfinished World Cup dream of U17 Vietnam

Falling into a tough group with many top Asian opponents such as Australia, Japan and UAE, U17 Vietnam still showed a tenacious fighting spirit and raised confidence in a generation of players who can go further in the future.

In 3 matches in Group B of the U17 Asian finals, U17 Vietnam met 3 strong opponents: Australia, Japan and UAE and all drew 1-1.

In the match between U17 Vietnam and UAE, Coach Roland's students regretfully missed the opportunity to get 3 points. After a courageous draw with U17 Japan, U17 Vietnam was only one match away from a ticket to the World Cup. Then we were only 10 minutes away from the World Cup when we took the lead against UAE. However, U17 Vietnam "gave" the ticket to the World Cup to this opponent when they equalized the score 1-1.

Although they stopped at the group stage with regret, after 3 matches, we still saw a united and excellent team of U17 Vietnam. Coach Roland's students showed their mettle, maturity and ability to rise up to challenges when facing strong opponents. This defeat is a lesson that coach Roland and his students need to overcome their weaknesses and nurture a flame for the World Cup in the future.

Through 3 matches in Group B of the U17 Asian Cup finals, it can be seen that the physical condition of the U17 Vietnamese players is still poor, this is something that needs to be improved soon if Coach Roland's students want to go further. This generation of players needs to increase friendly matches and tournaments to have the opportunity to gain experience and physical strength. The U17 journey has ended, but Vietnamese football has had another generation of promising players. If invested in the right direction, in the near future we will have excellent players.
