Gasoline prices drop the most since the beginning of the year

Gasoline prices drop sharply on the afternoon of April 10

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade , this decision was made in the context of a sharp drop in world oil prices due to many factors: the US increased import taxes on goods from many countries, crude oil inventories in the US increased, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict showed no signs of cooling down.

The average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the two management periods showed a clear decrease: RON92 gasoline decreased by 8.939 USD/barrel (equivalent to 10.75%), RON95 gasoline decreased by 9.531 USD/barrel (equivalent to 11.23%), diesel and kerosene both decreased by nearly 9%, while fuel oil decreased by more than 9.5%.

On that basis, the joint ministries decided not to set aside or spend the Price Stabilization Fund, and at the same time reduce retail prices of all petroleum products.

Specifically, E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by VND1,491/liter, down to VND18,882/liter; RON95-III gasoline decreased by VND1,712/liter, down to VND19,207/liter; diesel decreased by VND1,235/liter, down to VND17,243/liter; kerosene decreased by VND1,322/liter and mazut decreased by VND1,124/kg.

The new price will be applied from 3pm on April 10. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to closely coordinate with relevant units to ensure supply, stabilize the market and strictly handle violations.
