Gasoline prices rebound, RON 95 gasoline increases by nearly 800 VND/liter

The Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance has just adjusted the retail price of gasoline and oil in the adjustment period today, April 24. The application time is from 3:00 p.m. on April 24, 2025.

Specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by VND740/liter, to VND19,238/liter; RON 95 gasoline increased by VND782/liter, to VND19,638/liter.

Similarly, the price of diesel 0.05S: Increased by 487 VND/liter, to 17,520 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 531 VND/liter, to 17,715 VND/liter; mazut 180CST 3.5S increased by 564 VND/kg, to 16,524 VND/kg.

In this operating period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance did not set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for E5RON92 gasoline, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene, and fuel oil.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the average price of finished petroleum products in the world between the price adjustment period of April 17, 2025 and the adjustment period of April 24, 2025 is: 75.975 USD/barrel of RON92 gasoline used to blend E5RON92 gasoline (up 3.759 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 5.21%); 77.373 USD/barrel of RON95 gasoline (up 3.703 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 5.03%); 81.263 USD/barrel of kerosene (up 2.645 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.36%); 80.903 USD/barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (up 2.383 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 3.03%); 440,405 USD/ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (up 17,857 USD/ton, equivalent to an increase of 4.23%).

At 6:00 a.m. this morning, April 23, WTI oil price was at 62.23 USD/barrel, down 0.04 USD/barrel, US Brent oil price was at 66.12 USD/barrel, down 1.32 USD/barrel.

Oil prices fell after reports that some OPEC+ members will propose the group accelerate oil production increases in June for a second consecutive month.

According to Reuters, oil prices hit a four-year low this April due to the impact of the US-China trade war and OPEC+’s surprise decision to increase production by 411,000 barrels per day in May, three times the group’s original plan. Recently, OPEC+ members have had “cracks” in complying with production quotas.

The decline in oil prices was also affected by data from the US Energy Information Administration showing that US crude oil inventories unexpectedly increased by 244,000 barrels to 443.1 million barrels in the week ended April 18, contrary to analysts' forecasts for a decrease of 770,000 barrels.

Previously, in the April 17 adjustment period of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, gasoline prices were adjusted down, specifically, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at 18,498 VND/liter (down 384 VND/liter). The price of RON 95-III gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at 18,856 VND/liter (down 351 VND/liter).

Prices of petroleum products fluctuated. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at 17,037 VND/liter (down 206 VND/liter); kerosene has a new price of 17,184 VND/liter (down 229 VND/liter); fuel oil is priced at 15,960 VND/kg (up 58 VND/kg).

During this operating period, the management agency continues not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for any products.

Since the beginning of 2025, domestic gasoline prices have undergone 14 adjustment sessions, including 9 decrease sessions, 7 increase sessions and 1 opposite session.
