DNVN - Although the world gold price increased slightly, the price of SJC gold rings and gold bars in the domestic market on the morning of December 25 remained stable.
Domestic gold price
At 9:00 a.m., DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group announced the selling price of SJC gold bars at 82.3 - 84.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), unchanged from yesterday's listed price in both directions.
Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) also offered SJC gold bar prices at the same level, 82.3 - 84.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), with no adjustment compared to the previous session.
Besides, the domestic gold ring price also did not fluctuate. DOJI Gold and Gemstone Group continued to list the gold ring price at 83.3 - 84.3 million VND/tael (buy - sell), unchanged from the previous day.
Saigon Jewelry Company also kept the price of gold rings at 82.3 - 84.1 million VND/tael (buy - sell), stable compared to the previous session.
World gold price
In the international market, gold prices on December 24 remained stable in a less active trading session, as investors awaited new signals from the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) interest rate policy as well as the economic policies of President-elect Donald Trump.
Fed policies along with President-elect Donald Trump's tariff stance are expected to influence gold prices in 2025.
Specifically, spot gold price recorded an increase of 0.1%, reaching 2,616.88 USD/ounce, while gold futures price in the US increased by 0.3%, closing the session at 2,635.50 USD/ounce.
“The current trend in the gold market is largely influenced by the low liquidity environment,” said analyst Zain Vawda from OANDA’s MarketPulse.
In 2024, gold prices recorded a successful year with an increase of 27%, marking the strongest increase since 2010.
Vawda predicts that a similar rally is likely in 2025, but this will depend largely on geopolitical events. In the absence of unexpected geopolitical developments, gold prices are likely to remain around $2,800 an ounce, due to the impact of long-term risks and concerns related to trade wars.
In times of economic and geopolitical uncertainty, gold is often seen as a safe haven for investors.
