Domestic gold price far exceeds world gold price

The price of gold rings at this company is 3 million VND/tael lower than the price of gold bars, trading at 114 - 117 million VND/tael for buying and selling.

The price of SJC gold bars increased by 20 million VND/tael in just 3 days, the price of gold rings also continuously set records.

Doji Gold and Gemstone Group traded gold ring price at 114.5 - 118 million VND/tael; Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited listed gold ring price at 116.5 - 119.5 million VND/tael.

In just the past 3 days, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by 20 million VND/tael, and gold rings have increased by 16 - 17 million VND/tael.

At the same time, the world gold price stood still at 3,327 USD/ounce.

Notably, the domestic gold price has increased several times in recent days compared to the world gold price. From a difference of 3-5 million VND/tael in the past, the domestic gold price is now more than 15 million VND/tael higher than the world gold price.

According to experts, domestic gold prices have increased sharply because world gold prices have continuously set records. However, due to the scarcity of gold supply, the gap between domestic gold prices and world gold prices has widened.

In the currency market, the State Bank listed the central exchange rate at 24,898 VND/USD, up 5 VND compared to yesterday morning.

Accordingly, the bank USD price also adjusted up. Specifically, Vietcombank increased the USD price by 40 VND, to 25,710 - 26,100 VND/USD for buying and selling. VietinBank raised the USD price to 25,768 - 26,128 VND/USD; BIDV listed the USD price at 25,760 - 26,120 VND/USD.

Currently, foreign currency exchange points on the "black market" trade USD at a price range of 26,285-26,385 VND/USD for buying and selling, an increase of about 160 VND compared to the previous session.

This is the highest USD price ever recorded on the free market.
