World gold price drops, domestic gold price increases shockingly: 124 million VND/tael

SJC gold bar price increased by more than 52% in less than 4 months

After nearly reaching the threshold of 3,500 USD/ounce, tonight, April 22, the world gold price turned down to 3,426 USD/ounce.

Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 107.76 million VND/tael.

World gold prices have increased vertically over the past several days, causing domestic gold prices to skyrocket.

In early 2025, the selling price of SJC gold bars was only 84 million VND/tael, but after less than 4 months, the gold price increased by 44 million VND/tael, equivalent to 52.38%.

Since April 10, the price of SJC gold bars has increased by 20.7 million VND/tael. The increase is so attractive that many people invest in gold. However, buying gold bars and gold rings is not easy because the market is always in a state of shortage.

According to records, there are gold brands that are out of stock with gold rings or only selling very little, based on the source of gold purchased.

SJC Company also sometimes limits the maximum amount of gold each customer can buy. There are cases where customers who want to buy more have brought their whole family to line up.

World gold price decreases but domestic gold price still increases

At the end of today, SJC Company raised the selling price of SJC gold bars to 124 million VND/tael and the buying price to 122 million VND/tael. Thus, today alone, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 6 million VND/tael. If we count the first two days of the week, the price of SJC gold bars increased by 10 million VND/tael.

The selling price of 9999 gold rings at SJC Company at the end of the day decreased slightly by 500,000 VND/tael following the decrease in world gold prices, to 119 million VND/tael, buying at 116 million VND/tael.

At PNJ Company, the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars also increased to the same price as at SJC Company, while the selling price of 9999 gold rings at the end of the day was 120 million VND/tael, buying price was 117 million VND/tael.

At Bao Tin Minh Chau Company, the selling price of 9999 gold rings decreased to 122 million VND/tael, buying price 119 million VND/tael.

Compared to the converted world gold price, the price of SJC gold bars is 16.24 million VND/tael higher while the price of gold rings is 12.24 million VND/tael higher.
