Recently, the price of gold bars and gold rings in the country has continuously decreased, causing many investors to wonder when gold will stop falling.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Huy - CEO of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Nguyen Trai University, the gold price is currently in the oversold zone, establishing a bottom in the short term. However, in terms of value, gold is still at a historical high in recent years.
" I think gold prices may continue to fall, but when in the oversold zone, the decline usually slows down and there is a possibility of a short-term recovery, " Mr. Huy predicted.
According to Mr. Huy, the gold market is experiencing strong fluctuations, requiring investors to be cautious and have deep understanding before making decisions.
After Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, many investors sold gold and shifted to other assets such as cryptocurrencies and stocks. At the same time, the strengthening of the US dollar and the increase in the yield of 10-year US Treasury bonds put downward pressure on gold prices.
However, the current gold price is still supported by many factors such as: The US Federal Reserve (Fed) and major central banks in the world may continue to reduce interest rates to support economic growth, reduce the opportunity cost of holding gold and boost demand for this precious metal.
In addition, geopolitical tensions have shown no signs of abating as the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to escalate, along with instability in the Middle East, especially tensions between Israel and neighboring countries, which could increase demand for safe haven gold.
In addition, many central banks around the world are increasing their gold reserves, creating stable demand for the market.
Mr. Huy emphasized that the gold market always has unpredictable fluctuations. Investing in gold in the current context requires caution and a deep understanding of the market. Investors should consider carefully, closely monitor fluctuations and have a reasonable asset allocation strategy to optimize profits and effectively manage risks.
Many experts say it is difficult to know when gold prices will stop falling and turn around.
Vice President of the Vietnam Gold Association Dinh Nho Bang said that it is very difficult to predict how gold prices will develop in the near future.
" We cannot confirm when the gold price will be adjusted down or up, because we are affected by the world gold price. Therefore, investing in gold at this time will have many potential risks.
Therefore, both buyers and sellers need to be very cautious. Investors should wait until the world gold price adjusts down and stabilizes before buying, so there will be a better chance of making a profit ," said Mr. Dinh Nho Bang.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Shaokai Fan - Director of Asia-Pacific region (excluding China) and Director of Global Central Bank at the World Gold Council (WGC) also said that it is very difficult to predict specifically about gold prices in the coming time, but he still gave many factors that can affect gold prices in the coming time for investors to observe and evaluate.
In it, the expert emphasized the practical impacts of Mr. Trump's policies after officially taking office.
Many believe that the market expects Mr. Trump to become the US president, and that tensions in the Middle East or Ukraine will ease. However, these factors are difficult to predict and "it is not known what will happen".
In addition, the price of bitcoin has skyrocketed to a new record high after Mr. Trump was re-elected, creating a strong wave of FOMO (fear of missing out) in the cryptocurrency market. Meanwhile, the new administration is expected to have policies that support bitcoin, including removing regulations that make it difficult for this market.
However, Mr. Shaokai Fan also said that "it is difficult to say", and it is necessary to observe more about new policies when they are put into practice.
" It is likely that investors will also reassess how new factors will affect the US when there is a new president ," said WGC experts.
