World gold price today
World gold prices increased sharply, with spot gold prices increasing by 96.4 USD to 3,425.4 USD/ounce. Gold futures last traded at 3,435.1 USD/ounce, up 106.7 USD compared to early this morning.
Gold prices surged above $3,400 an ounce and hit a fresh record high on Monday, boosted by a weaker dollar and uncertainty over the impact of U.S.-China trade tensions on the economy.
The dollar fell sharply as investor confidence in the US economy continued to be dented by comments from US President Donald Trump about Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. The weaker greenback continued to boost the appeal of gold for holders of other currencies.
Regarding the trade war, China recently accused the US of abusing tariffs.

Gold prices are rising as a safe-haven reaction as the tariff tensions continue to escalate, noted David Meger, director of metals trading at High Ridge Futures. Meger added that while there may be profit-taking pressure, the fundamental trend for gold remains higher.
Considered a hedge against uncertainty and a highly liquid asset, gold has hit multiple record highs and is up more than $700 since the start of 2025. Gold prices broke through $3,300 an ounce last Wednesday and the rally has pushed prices up another $100 in just a few days.
Amid concerns over escalating trade wars and slowing global economic growth, experts still believe that gold has the potential to rise further even though the precious metal is at an all-time high.
Barchart.com senior market analyst Darin Newsom said he still sees no reason to change his bullish stance on gold, stressing that continued uncertainty will continue to push prices higher.
With the domestic gold bar price increasing sharply and the world gold price listed at Kitco at 3,425.4 USD/ounce (equivalent to about 107.6 million VND/tael converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, excluding taxes and fees), the difference between domestic and world gold prices is about 10.4 million VND/tael.
