World gold price today April 6, 2025 and world gold price fluctuation chart in the past 24 hours

According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 4am today, Vietnam time, was 3,035.92 USD/ounce. Today's gold price increased by 0.6% compared to yesterday. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (25,950 VND/USD), the world gold price is about 95 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is 5 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.

In the past two days, the price of gold bars has lost about VND2.7 million/tael and is moving away from the record peak. Domestic gold prices have "turned around" and gone down due to the influence of world prices. In the international market, today's gold price stopped at USD3,038/ounce, losing a total of about USD80/ounce compared to the previous session.

World gold prices plunged at the end of the week despite the market still worrying about tensions from the tariff policies of US President Donald Trump and his partners.

Although gold may continue to fluctuate in the coming days and weeks due to economic and political factors, it is expected to increase in value in the long term. Its role as a safe haven asset in an uncertain world is hard to replace.

HSBC has revised up its forecast for the average gold price in 2025 to $3,015 an ounce and in 2026 to $2,915 an ounce, from its previous forecasts of $2,687 and $2,615, respectively. The decision was made due to growing geopolitical uncertainties, including conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, along with changes in US foreign policy and economic uncertainty.

HSBC said central banks will continue to buy gold this year and next, but the pace of purchases may be slower than the peak period in 2022-2024. Demand for gold may decline if prices rise above $3,000 an ounce, but will rebound if prices fall below around $2,800.

"If gold prices fall sharply and continuously below $3,000 an ounce, for example near or below $2,700 an ounce, it could trigger a sell-off from speculators but at the same time stimulate demand for physical gold and encourage central banks to increase purchases," the bank said.
