According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), Vietnam currently has about 200 pepper processing enterprises, of which 15 enterprises account for 70% of export volume, with 14 deep processing factories. Along with that, 5 foreign-invested enterprises account for nearly 30% of the export market share. Vietnam's pepper processing technology has now met international standards, creating diverse products such as black pepper, white pepper, ground pepper and small packages.
Currently, VPSA encourages farmers to improve pepper quality right from the planting stage, while businesses need to invest in deep and clean processing. At the same time, expand products and markets to penetrate the global pepper supply chain.
After a period of high prices, the domestic pepper market is currently falling sharply, with prices fluctuating around 145,000 - 146,000 VND/kg, down 5,000 - 6,000 VND/kg depending on the region.
