On April 23, the Da Nang City Land Fund Development Center announced the results of the auction to lease the golden land at Dragon Bridge to build a new tourist market - Son Tra night market.

Land lots A2-4 and A2-5 in the Son Tra District Administrative Center area, located south of the road leading to Dragon Bridge (An Hai Nam Ward, Son Tra District), are used for short-term land lease to build Son Tra night market.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City decided to auction this land to relocate the current Son Tra night market (north of the road leading to Dragon Bridge) to a new location.

The land has a total area of ​​3,811m2 . The starting rental price is 261,680 VND/ m2 /year for 2,202.7m2 of land A2.4; and 273,680 VND/m2 / year for 1,608.3m2 of land A2.5 (the total starting price for the auction is more than 1 billion VND/year). The rental period is 3 years.

After 1 month of announcement, 8 organizations and individuals participated in the auction. On April 17, the auction organizer opened the documents. As a result, the winning unit to lease the land was DHTC Da Nang Joint Stock Company, with a land rental price of nearly 3.1 billion VND/year.

In 2018, DHTC Da Nang Joint Stock Company was assigned to pilot the investment in Son Tra night market with a rental fee of 420 million VND/year (temporary use of sidewalks and roads on Mai Hac De and Ly Nam De streets, An Hai Nam Ward), about 200 m from land plots A2.4 and A2.5.

Thus, the auction winning price of nearly 3.1 billion VND/year is 3 times higher than the starting price and 7 times higher than the old rental price in 2018.

After more than 6 years, Son Tra night market has become a famous tourist destination of Da Nang city, attracting a large number of tourists, especially international visitors to enjoy the market's specialties, which are diverse culinary dishes.

According to the plan to organize the new Son Tra night market, the People's Committee of Da Nang City requires the investor to be responsible for committing to re-arranging for all the small traders currently doing business at the old market, the area of ​​the stalls is about 1,500 m2 , accounting for 40% of the land area, the rest is for walkways and auxiliary areas.

The business sectors at Son Tra night market include cuisine, handicrafts, souvenirs, local products, fashion, shoes, handbags, spas, etc. Operating hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
