On the morning of October 9, speaking to reporters, Mr. Pham Van Binh - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province said that the province's export turnover in September is estimated at 50 million USD, the accumulated turnover in 9 months is estimated at 700 million USD, reaching 93.33% of the plan, up 26.13% over the same period.

In particular, the record high coffee price in the past 5 years brought in a large export value. Coffee export output reached 193,000 tons, equivalent to an export turnover of 552 million USD (an increase of 28.37% in value), accounting for 80% of the total export turnover of the province.
Some other items also increased such as: Rubber latex 764 tons/1.03 million USD, up 22.12% in value; wood products 1.6 million USD; other goods reached 145.3 million USD, up 17.7% in value.

Along with that, the import turnover in September is estimated at 3 million USD, the accumulated value in 9 months is estimated at 113 million USD, reaching 98.26% of the plan, up 13% over the same period. Main items such as: Cassava chips 53,650 tons/7.62 million USD; cashew nuts 39,500 tons/45.54 million USD; natural rubber 1,900 tons/2.3 million USD and some other items 62.14 million USD (materials, fertilizers, sugar, bananas, mangoes, pineapples, corn kernels, soybeans...).

Total cross-border import-export turnover in the first 9 months reached 153 million USD, up 48% over the same period. Exports were estimated at 33 million USD, down 25% over the same period. Imports were estimated at 120 million USD, up 103% over the same period.
Coffee is the main crop of Gia Lai province with an area of over 100,000 hectares, of which the commercial coffee area is over 87,000 hectares, with a total output of about 260,000 tons.
Some reputable coffee exporting enterprises in the international market in Gia Lai province include: Vinh Hiep, Hoa Trang, Tin Thanh Dat, Louis Dreyfu Company Vietnam (FDI enterprise).
These enterprises all have large-scale processing plants, upgraded and expanded warehouse systems; at the same time, they focus on investing in technological innovation, applying advanced technical standards and regulations in production and processing, thereby creating quality goods, meeting the requirements of demanding markets such as the US, EU, and Japan.
Along with that, the impact of free trade agreements, especially the EVFTA and RCEP, has created favorable conditions for businesses to expand markets and improve export capacity.
