Pi Network Announced Mainnet Migration Roadmap Today
Pi Network has just released its Mainnet Migration Roadmap, a three-phase rollout plan to transition tens of millions of users (Pioneers) to the open network. The roadmap also introduces new rewards such as referral bonuses. However, Pi has not provided any specific timelines, leaving many users frustrated by the lack of clarity and delays in receiving the promised rewards.
Pi plans to prioritize migration for those already in the queue, including verified rewards such as base mining, security circles, token locking, utility app usage, and Node rewards. The next phase will then process referral-related rewards if the invitee has completed KYC.
The final phase will be periodic migrations, possibly monthly or quarterly, to complete the transfer of all remaining rewards. However, the pace of implementation is not yet clear.
The roadmap has been met with mixed reactions due to its lack of transparency. Users are not given specific numbers in the queue or daily processing speeds. Some node operators have confirmed receiving rewards, but the selection criteria are unclear, raising concerns about being left out.
Many Pioneers also reported that despite requesting daily migrations, they have not yet received their basic mining rewards, which makes them doubt whether the delayed rewards will actually be resolved in phase two.
Additionally, Pi said that to save resources, the system only displays a portion of the transferable balance, which many people are concerned about because the actual figures are hidden. This erodes users' trust when they do not know exactly how many tokens they have.
Another point of note is that Pi does not provide a process for users to check or appeal if historical mining data is incorrect. With the system being six years old, data disputes are inevitable, but the roadmap has yet to address how to handle them.
All migrations are contingent on the completion of KYC. However, the team has not given a specific timeline or target for expanding identity verification, which could delay the entire process if bottlenecks occur at this stage.
Additionally, the roadmap does not make clear how the large amount of tokens that are about to be unlocked—expected to be around 108.9 million PI this month—will affect the migration progress.
Some users have also questioned the transparency of the project, noting the contradiction between the claim that “all tokens have been minted from scratch” and the six years of so-called “mining.” This raises doubts about whether Pi Network is actually operating on a proper blockchain.
