DNVN - Agricultural product prices today, March 10, 2025, recorded no change in coffee compared to the previous trading session, the average price was still maintained at 129,700 VND/kg. Meanwhile, pepper was also stable at a high level and had little fluctuation compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices remain the same
On the London exchange, at 5:00 a.m. on March 10, 2025, Robusta coffee prices did not fluctuate much compared to the previous session, ranging from 5,095 - 5,478 USD/ton. Specifically, the May 2025 futures price was at 5,353 USD/ton, the July 2025 futures price was 5,318 USD/ton, the September 2025 futures price was 5,252 USD/ton, and the November 2025 futures price was 5,153 USD/ton.
Arabica coffee prices on the New York floor in the morning session of March 10 continued to be stable, with no significant changes compared to the previous session, fluctuating from 349.20 - 392.05 cents/lb. Specifically, the price of the May 2025 contract reached 384.40 cents/lb, the July 2025 contract recorded 377.40 cents/lb, the September 2025 contract was priced at 364.90 cents/lb, and the December 2025 contract reached 353.60 cents/lb.
Similarly, the price of Brazilian Arabica coffee also remained stable, fluctuating between 458.65 - 476.00 USD/ton. Specifically, the March 2025 contract traded at 476.00 USD/ton, May 2025 reached 478.00 USD/ton, July 2025 was priced at 470.55 USD/ton and the September 2025 contract recorded 458.65 USD/ton.
Domestic coffee prices remain unchanged
At 5:00 a.m. on March 10, 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands remained stable, unchanged from the previous trading session, with an average price recorded at 129,700 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee price in Dak Lak this morning reached 129,800 VND/kg, in Lam Dong it was recorded at 129,000 VND/kg, in Gia Lai it was traded at 129,600 VND/kg and in Dak Nong it is currently priced at 129,800 VND/kg.
Although the price of coffee has decreased by 5,000 VND/kg over the past 3 days of the weekend, the price of this commodity is still higher than last week.
In Lam Dong alone, coffee prices last week recorded the strongest increase of VND1,500/kg. Meanwhile, in Gia Lai, the increase was smaller, only VND100/kg compared to the previous week. In the two localities of Dak Lak and Dak Nong, the increase was recorded at VND300/kg.
On March 5, coffee prices hit a record high of VND135,000/kg. The main reason was that coffee inventories in Brazil fell to an all-time low, causing market concerns about supply. However, prices then fell sharply when positive weather information appeared. Both Brazil and Vietnam recorded significant rainfall, helping to ease concerns about global supply shortages.
Pepper prices remain stable
According to the update at 5:00 a.m. on March 10, 2025, domestic pepper prices remain high and have little change compared to yesterday. The average price in key regions is currently 160,000 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai, pepper prices today have not been adjusted, continuing to be purchased at 159,000 VND/kg.
There is also no change in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, pepper price is still at 159,000 VND/kg.
In Binh Phuoc, pepper is purchased at an unchanged price of 159,000 VND/kg.
Pepper in Dak Lak, after a slight decrease in the previous session, has now stabilized at VND161,000/kg.
Particularly in Dak Nong, pepper prices remain at the highest level in the country, currently reaching 162,000 VND/kg.
World pepper prices do not fluctuate much.
Data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) updated at 5:00 a.m. on March 10, 2025 shows that the global pepper market is less volatile, with prices remaining high.
Specifically, IPC recorded the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,376 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper was purchased at 10,242 USD/ton.
In Malaysia, the pepper market stabilized after the previous increase, with ASTA black pepper currently priced at $9,800/ton, while ASTA white pepper is priced at $12,300/ton.
The Brazilian pepper market also has no significant fluctuations, with the current purchase price maintained at 6,850 USD/ton.
Pepper export prices from Vietnam continued to be stable and recorded a slight increase. Accordingly, black pepper of 500 g/l grade exported reached 7,000 USD/ton, 550 g/l grade was priced at 7,200 USD/ton, while white pepper was traded at 10,000 USD/ton.
Last week, the International Pepper Community (IPC) adjusted the listed export pepper prices, recording significant increases in some markets. Specifically, Indonesian black pepper increased by 141 USD/ton, while white pepper of this country increased sharply by 283 USD/ton. Black pepper prices in Vietnam and Malaysia also increased by 100 USD/ton. In particular, Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper remained unchanged compared to last week.
Global demand for spices continues to grow
The trend of spice consumption in the world continues to increase, especially in the US market. According to statistics, the retail value of spices in this country increased from 5 billion USD before the pandemic to 7 billion USD in the past year. This trend is driven by the increase in home cooking habits as well as the popularity of Asian and Mexican cuisine.
Thanks to proactive market research and the application of modern processing technology, the Vietnamese pepper industry continues to maintain an important position on the world map. Currently, Vietnamese spice products have appeared widely in major markets such as India, Europe and the US. In particular, Vietnamese pepper plays an important role in Chinese cuisine, where spicy spices are an indispensable element.
