In An Giang, the price of white raw rice is stable, with regular transactions. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the amount of rice imported is not much but the price remains stable. In Sa Dec market and An Cu area (Tien Giang), weak purchasing power causes the price to not fluctuate much.

Meanwhile, other rice varieties such as Jasmine, CL 555, OM 5451 or IR 504 continue to remain stable. Vietnam’s rice export prices today remained stable compared to last weekend. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the price of 100% broken rice is currently at $317 per ton, while 25% broken rice is traded at $367 per ton.
Vietnam’s 5% broken rice price remains at $394/ton. This price is not much different from the same type of rice from Thailand ($393/ton), but higher than that of Pakistan ($390/ton) and India ($376/ton).
According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), the global ending rice stocks in the 2024-2025 crop year have been revised up by 1.7 million tons compared to the previous forecast, bringing the total to 183.2 million tons. This is the highest level since the 2021-2022 crop year.
Most of the upward revision comes from Southeast Asia, where stocks in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam have been raised, offsetting declines in India and Pakistan. Despite a slight 0.5 million tonne reduction from the previous forecast, India’s stocks are still the main driver of the global inventory build, thanks to a bumper harvest.
China’s ending stocks remained unchanged at 103.5 million tonnes, accounting for 56% of global rice stocks, indicating that China remains the world’s largest stockpile holder.
The USDA also raised its forecast for global rice trade in 2025 to 59.7 million tons, up 2% from its previous estimate. However, this figure is still lower than the record of 59.9 million tons achieved last year.
India’s exports alone are forecast to increase sharply, reaching a record 24 million tonnes in 2025. Between April 1, 2024, and March 25, 2025, India exported 19.86 million tonnes of rice, far exceeding the 16.36 million tonnes in the previous fiscal year. This shows that India continues to maintain its position as the world’s largest rice exporter.
