Gia Lai deploys a series of activities for Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day from April 15 to May 2

On April 9, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich signed and issued Plan No. 872/KH-UBND on organizing the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province in 2025.

The plan sets out the content of information and propaganda work and activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province.

Specifically, continue to inform, propagate and widely disseminate the contents of Decision No. 1862/QD-TTg dated November 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister on organizing Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day; propagate response activities at all levels, sectors, localities, agencies and units in the province, and the series of activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province.

At the same time, promote the role and position of books in social life, honor typical examples in the reading movement, promote books, preserve books for the community; encourage the establishment of book clubs; replicate the model of family bookcases, clan bookcases, agency bookcases, schools, community bookcases; make the reading movement a habit, a cultural beauty in agencies, units and communities.

The launching ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province is scheduled to take place on April 16 at a school in Chu Se district; combining the display and introduction of books suitable for students and giving gifts to poor students who have overcome difficulties to study well.

In addition, the series of activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province also includes: donating books to disadvantaged schools, remote and isolated areas (the Department of Education and Training will implement and complete before September 5); organizing exhibitions, displays, and book introductions with contents, topics, and fields suitable for all subjects and classes of people in the locality (the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will direct the Provincial Library and libraries of districts, towns, and cities to implement in April 2025).

Along with that are activities responding to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province at publishing establishments this April such as: organizing book weeks, book fairs, book publishing months focusing on customer gratitude...; hanging banners welcoming the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day at workplaces, stores, and bookstores; organizing online distribution channels combined with technology platforms, social networks, and e-commerce platforms to introduce and promote books; displaying and selling books at preferential prices to serve readers during the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day...
