Gia Lai: Summarizing 50 years of literature and art after national reunification

The report summarizing 50 years of literature and art by the Standing Committee of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee said: Over the past 50 years, literary and artistic activities in Gia Lai province have always received attention from Party committees and authorities at all levels, leading and managing them in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and in accordance with the local situation.

The main stream of literary and artistic creation in the province over the past 50 years has always been oriented towards the tradition of patriotism, solidarity and humanity; praising the heroic fighters and sacrifices in the resistance wars against foreign invaders; promoting the beauty of the land, culture and people of Gia Lai, associated with the motto of preserving and promoting the fine traditional values ​​of the ethnic communities...

Many artists have focused on reflecting stories about building a new life, the challenges of the market economy and the concerns, aspirations for innovation, aspirations for a better life in the province's upward transformation...; contributing to orienting political ideology, encouraging patriotic emulation movements; condemning "bad things, evil things" in society, promoting socio-economic development and building Gia Lai people to develop comprehensively.

From 40 members when it was first established, Gia Lai Literature and Arts Association now has a total of 207 members in 7 fields. Many artists have made great contributions to literature, with works winning high awards in the region, nationally and internationally.

From 1975 to present, Gia Lai province has had 2 State awards; 2 People's Artists; 8 Meritorious Artists; 1909 international, sectoral and regional literature and art awards; 437 provincial literature and art awards; 7 Photographic Artist titles...

Comrade Chau Ngoc Tuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, delivered a concluding speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Chau Ngoc Tuan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, respectfully thanked the presence of delegates, artists, and artisans who attended and contributed many enthusiastic and responsible opinions to the province's literature and arts after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Comrade Chau Ngoc Tuan affirmed: The 50-year journey after the country's reunification is a meaningful period, marking the efforts, dedication and unceasing creativity of many generations of artists and artisans in the province. In difficult conditions, from remote villages to developing urban areas, you have worked tirelessly in your art, bringing your sensitive hearts and talents to portray the beauty of the people and land of Gia Lai.

Many people have spent their entire lives, overcoming material limitations, quietly creating works that touch people's hearts, marking the traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities.

Artists have become soldiers on the cultural front, using their pens, drawings, and melodies to light up the flame of Central Highlands culture, connecting the past with the present, and inspiring generations.

In order to continue to effectively implement the tasks and solutions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on implementing Conclusion No. 84-KL/TW dated June 21, 2024 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW of the 10th Politburo on building and developing literature and arts in the new period; the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels need to innovate their thinking and leadership and direction methods, raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees and organizations, especially leaders, for literature and arts work;

Increase investment in literature and arts; ensure funding for major target programs and creative activities of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, considering this an investment for development;

Comrade Chau Ngoc Tuan emphasized that it must be determined that: Literature and art are not only important endogenous resources, "soft power" contributing to building Gia Lai people with comprehensive development of "mind-body-aesthetics", rich in patriotism, humanity, affection, imbued with the cultural identity of ethnic groups, but also a sharp spiritual weapon to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against erroneous and hostile views.

On this occasion, the Deputy Secretary requested the Gia Lai artists to continue to promote their role as pioneers, using their talent and passion to create worthy works, nurturing the soul and arousing the desire to develop Gia Lai.

At the conference, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province awarded Certificates of Merit and posthumous Certificates of Merit to 71 artists who have made many contributions to the province's literature and arts 50 years after the liberation of the South on April 30.
