Gia Lai strives to save 3.4% of total energy consumption in 2026

The general objective of the Plan is to promote the use of energy economically and efficiently, making energy saving programs a regular activity in social life in the province, contributing to ensuring national energy security, environmental protection, and sustainable socio-economic development.

At the same time, raise awareness of organizations and individuals about using energy economically and efficiently in all social activities; reduce energy intensity in industries and economic sectors; energy saving becomes a regular activity for key energy-using establishments and key economic sectors that consume a lot of energy; towards the goal of green growth and sustainable development. Along with that, gradually overcome waste in energy use, reduce production costs, lower product prices, increase the competitiveness of enterprises, improve workers' lives and protect the environment.

The province sets a specific target in 2026 to achieve an energy saving rate of 3.4% compared to the total energy consumption of the whole province; reduce power loss to 4.75% lower than in 2025; 100% of schools have propaganda activities on economical and efficient energy use; 90% of industrial parks and 70% of industrial clusters have access to and apply solutions for economical and efficient energy use; implement energy labeling for construction materials with insulation requirements used in construction works.

To achieve the above goal, the province has set 9 tasks including: Strengthening state management of energy saving and efficiency; disseminating information, raising awareness in the community, promoting energy saving and efficiency in manufacturing enterprises, agencies, offices, schools, hospitals; in public lighting, advertising, outdoor decoration, traffic lighting, households, commercial and service establishments, production, processing, mining establishments, handicraft production establishments... and managing electricity demand.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to act as the standing agency, presiding over consultation, monitoring and guiding implementation. Relevant departments, branches, localities and units are responsible for coordinating implementation according to assigned fields.
