Dong Nai Province Livestock Association has sent a document to the Prime Minister regarding the complicated situation of smuggled pigs recently.

Accordingly, according to many sources of information that the Dong Nai Province Livestock Association has, due to the current Lunar New Year, domestic consumption demand is increasing, so the situation of smuggled pigs continues to increase dramatically.

Specifically, during the weeks from January 1-15, an average of 6,000 - 7,000 pigs were smuggled from Cambodia into Vietnam each night through several border gates in the southeastern provinces and the southwestern border.

Dong Nai Province Livestock Association recommends that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development establish inspection teams to control local veterinary forces and prevent the illegal transportation and trade of pigs into Vietnam along the border, border gates, trails, and openings.
