Pig price situation in the North

The live pig market in the North today recorded a price decrease in some localities.

Hung Yen has adjusted down 1,000 VND/kg, now down to 68,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, many provinces such as Hanoi , Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Vinh Phuc, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Lao Cai... still maintain stable prices around 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

The general price of live pigs in the North fluctuates between 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg, lower than the other two regions.

Pig price situation in the Central Highlands

In the Central and Central Highlands regions today, the market did not record any changes in selling prices.

Prices in the provinces of Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa , Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Thua Thien Hue... continue to remain around 69,000 - 70,000 VND/kg.

Particularly in Dak Lak and Quang Binh, the price of live pigs remains high at 70,000 VND/kg.

Overall, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands region is currently stable at around 69,000 - 70,000 VND/kg.

Pig price situation in the South

The South still maintains its position as the region with the highest live pig prices in the country, with many provinces recording a slight increase during the day.

In Dong Thap, the price has increased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 75,000 VND/kg.

Hau Giang also increased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently reaching 74,000 VND/kg.

Bac Lieu province adjusted the price up by 1,000 VND/kg, to 74,000 VND/kg.

Some other places such as Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Tien Giang... still keep the same price, fluctuating from 73,000 - 74,000 VND/kg.

The South is currently holding the leading position in terms of live pig prices with a common level of 73,000 - 75,000 VND/kg, reflecting large and stable consumption demand in the region.

The upward price trend in the Southwest region is driven by recovery in consumption and strong demand from processing enterprises.

The Northern region recorded a slight downward correction signal, showing a slowdown after many consecutive days of increase.

Pig prices in the Central Highlands have not changed significantly and continue to remain stable.

Forecasts show that the live hog market next week will be clearly differentiated, with the South continuing to maintain high prices, while the North and Central regions may remain stable or fluctuate slightly depending on local supply and demand.

Livestock situation in Lam Dong province

According to data from Lam Dong Statistics Office as of March 10, the total livestock herd of the province is as follows: buffalo herd reached 14,360 heads, down 0.05%; cow herd had 99,265 heads, down 0.38% (focusing on beef cattle herd); pig herd reached 424,900 heads, down 0.86%; chicken herd reached about 5.79 million heads, up 2.43% over the same period.

According to information from Lam Dong Statistics Office, the locality is still implementing quarantine work for animals and animal products imported and exported to the province in accordance with regulations.

Specifically, the quarantine quantity exported from the province includes: 88 buffaloes and cows, 183,471 pigs; 4.3 million chickens; 356,480 ducks; 4 dogs and cats; 65,000 aquatic animals of all kinds; 20.5 tons of meat; 302.5 tons of other products (including silkworm pupae and viscera); 771,269 kg of silkworm cocoons and 1,106 cowhides.

In addition, the province also quarantined imported goods in the quantity of: 756 buffaloes and cows, 19,160 pigs, and 390,884 poultry for production.
