The Northern region did not record any price changes today. The common price here fluctuates between 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg:
Some provinces such as Hanoi, Hung Yen, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Bac Giang still maintain prices from 69,000 to 70,000 VND/kg.
Localities such as Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai and Yen Bai continue to stay at around 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg.
Thai Binh is currently leading the region with the highest price of 70,000 VND/kg.
Central Highlands region
In the Central and Central Highlands regions, pig prices today show no signs of adjustment:
The provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai and Quang Nam remained stable at 69,000 VND/kg.
Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa provinces continue to maintain the price at 70,000 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak and Binh Phuoc, the highest price in the region was recorded at 72,000 - 73,000 VND/kg.
In the South
The South is currently maintaining a stable price level across the region:
Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ben Tre remain at around 74,000 - 75,000 VND/kg.
The provinces of Dong Nai, Ca Mau, Long An, Hau Giang, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Tien Giang continued to be stable at 73,000 - 74,000 VND/kg.
Three localities including Soc Trang, An Giang and Kien Giang maintain the common price of 73,000 VND/kg.
According to traders and purchasing businesses, the market is waiting for new signals about domestic demand during the April 30 – May 1 holiday. If purchasing power increases, the price of live pigs may be adjusted slightly next week.
At current prices, farmers should consider selling a portion of their herd to minimize risks if prices fluctuate in the future. Pigs weighing 100-110kg should be sold early to avoid additional costs.
Traders and processors need to quickly finalize contracts to ensure supply before prices may fluctuate at the end of the month. Planning for imports in the second quarter is also necessary to stabilize input materials.
The Hanoi People's Committee has issued Official Dispatch No. 1495 requesting units to focus on synchronously and effectively implementing measures to prevent and control livestock and poultry diseases.
In the document, the Hanoi People's Committee requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to prioritize the allocation of resources and funds to comprehensively, drastically and effectively implement the issued animal disease prevention and control plans.
Local People's Committees must also ensure that vaccination of livestock is carried out according to the general plan, and at the same time, additional vaccinations must be given to newly emerging herds to reach a minimum rate of 80% of the total herd that needs to be vaccinated.
In addition, it is necessary to strictly monitor the gathering, buying and selling of animals and animal products of unclear origin. In particular, it is necessary to thoroughly handle the acts of transporting and trading smuggled animals across the border.
People's Committees of districts, towns and cities also need to step up strict inspection of disease prevention and food safety at slaughterhouses, processing, transporting and consuming animals and animal products.
