The Northern market witnessed a significant decrease in live pig prices today, April 24, 2025, with common prices ranging from 67,000 - 68,000 VND/kg. Provinces such as Bac Giang, Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Hanoi and Tuyen Quang recorded prices of 68,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region. Meanwhile, Yen Bai, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh were all at 67,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region. Notable fluctuations occurred in Yen Bai, Hung Yen and Thai Binh, when prices decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous session, reflecting oversupply pressure or reduced consumption demand in these localities. The price differentiation between provinces is not too large, but the widespread downward trend shows that the market is being negatively impacted.
In the Central Highlands, the price of live pigs today, April 24, 2025, fluctuated from 67,000 - 75,000 VND/kg, with a slight downward trend in some provinces. Lam Dong and Binh Thuan led the region with the highest price of 75,000 VND/kg, followed by Dak Lak and Ninh Thuan at 73,000 VND/kg. Provinces such as Quang Binh, Hue and Khanh Hoa maintained the price of 70,000 VND/kg, while Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai fluctuated from 68,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. Nghe An and Ha Tinh recorded the lowest price in the region at 67,000 VND/kg, also down 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous session. Price differentiation in this region is quite clear, with Central Highlands provinces such as Lam Dong maintaining high prices thanks to stable demand, while Central provinces are under downward pressure due to supply competition.
Unlike the two regions above, the price of live pigs today, April 24, 2025 in the South remained stable, with no recorded fluctuations, with prices ranging from 74,000 - 76,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai, Tay Ninh and Ben Tre led the region with the highest price of 76,000 VND/kg, while Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Tien Giang and Tra Vinh reached 75,000 VND/kg. The remaining provinces such as Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Long An, An Giang, Vinh Long, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang were all at 74,000 VND/kg. This stability shows that the Southern market is maintaining a balance between supply and demand, with stable consumption demand in major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai.

Domestic pig price news on April 24, 2025
The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province has just issued Official Dispatch No. 788 on the implementation of the month of general cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of the environment to prevent and control animal diseases, phase 1/2025. Implementation period is from April 25 to May 25.
According to the Official Dispatch, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct specialized agencies and the Agricultural Service Center to develop a plan to organize the month of general cleaning, disinfection and environmental detoxification to prevent and control animal diseases.
At the same time, districts, cities and towns are responsible for directing communes to conduct general cleaning and spraying of disinfectants in household livestock areas, grazing grounds, markets, and slaughterhouses of livestock and poultry; border districts organize cleaning and disinfection of trails and openings in their management areas.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of Gia Lai province was assigned to proactively provide 5,280 liters of chemicals from the province's reserve source to districts, towns and cities; urge and guide localities and farm owners to implement the month of general cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of the environment to prevent and control epidemics in livestock herds to achieve the best results.
In addition, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine must direct animal quarantine stations at traffic hubs to strictly carry out sanitation and disinfection of vehicles transporting animals and animal products passing through the stations.
