In the North, the market continued to weaken when Bac Giang, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Ha Nam and Hanoi all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, trading at 68,000 VND/kg, while Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh hit the lowest level of 67,000 VND/kg; provinces such as Yen Bai, Hung Yen, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc and Tuyen Quang remained stable at 68,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands, the price of live pigs remained stable, with Lam Dong and Binh Thuan leading at 75,000 VND/kg, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh the lowest at 68,000 VND/kg, while provinces such as Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai reached 69,000 VND/kg, Quang Binh, Hue, Khanh Hoa at 70,000 VND/kg, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan at 73,000 VND/kg and Binh Dinh at 71,000 VND/kg, showing clear price differentiation.

Domestic pig price news on April 23, 2025
According to information from Thach Ha district, since April 11, in Phu Luu commune, three cows from three households in Dong Chau and My Hoa villages were found to have lumpy skin disease. To date, two-thirds of the cows have died, with a total weight of 275 kg.
Along with lumpy skin disease, since April 13, in Luu Vinh Son commune, an outbreak of African swine fever has appeared in the pigs of 4 households in the villages of Tan Huong, Xuan Son, Bau Am. The number of sick and dead pigs is 6, with a destroyed weight of 559 kg.
Previously, since the beginning of the year, in Thach Ha district, there have been consecutive outbreaks of African swine fever in Thinh Loc and Thach Chau communes... causing nearly 50 pigs to die and have to be destroyed.
Faced with the complicated situation of livestock epidemics, Thach Ha district is urgently implementing many prevention and control solutions; promptly distributing chemicals, lime powder, Lumpyvac vaccine, human resources, and tools for mass spraying, preventive vaccination, setting up blockades in areas where the epidemic has occurred, and implementing large-scale prevention.
Departments, agencies and sectors, according to their functions, shall strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of disease prevention and control measures in localities; promptly guide and disseminate contents related to disease prevention and control work.
