Pig price news on April 2, 2025
In the first three months of 2025, Dak Lak province recorded many dangerous disease outbreaks in livestock, causing significant damage and threatening public health. Specifically, there were 6 rabies outbreaks in animals in 4 districts (Cu Kuin, Cu M'gar, Krong Nang, Lak), leading to the death of 10 dogs and forced destruction. Notably, there were two deaths due to rabies in Krong Ana and M'Drak districts. In addition, three African swine fever outbreaks were also detected in Cu M'gar district and Buon Ma Thuot city, with a total of 38 sick, dead and destroyed pigs, equivalent to about 1,974 kg.
The main cause of this situation is that the pathogen is still widely circulating in livestock and the environment, combined with a high proportion of small-scale farming, unsafe slaughter, and low vaccination rates. This increases the risk of further outbreaks and spread of the disease in the future.
