The Northern pig market on April 16 recorded a slight increase in some localities, while most places kept the price unchanged.
Specifically, provinces such as Yen Bai, Hung Yen and Ha Nam all increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg; bringing the price in Yen Bai and Ha Nam to 68,000 VND/kg; Hung Yen reached 70,000 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, other localities such as Bac Giang, Lao Cai, Nam Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Hanoi , Vinh Phuc, Ninh Binh and Tuyen Quang maintained stable prices compared to the previous day.
Today's live pig price in the North ranges from 67,000 VND/kg to 70,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region
Similar to the North, the pig market in the Central Highlands region also shows price differentiation. Common prices range from 68,000 VND/kg to 73,000 VND/kg.
The provinces with pork prices increasing by 1,000 VND/kg are Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Hue and Dak Lak.
The remaining localities such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan have unchanged prices.
Notably, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan are the localities with the highest live pig prices in the region, all at 73,000 VND/kg.

The live hog market in the South has improved with many localities recording price increases. Live hog prices in this region fluctuate mainly between 73,000 - 74,000 VND/kg, with Ben Tre recording the highest level of 75,000 VND/kg.
The provinces with live pig prices increasing by 1,000 VND/kg are An Giang, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh and Ben Tre.
Other localities such as Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Long An, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Ca Mau, Tien Giang, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang maintained stable prices.

In general, the live hog market on April 16 showed uneven fluctuations between regions. While the South had a slight price increase in many localities, the North and the Central Highlands - Central region had stability or only slight increases and decreases in a few provinces. This shows that the live hog market is still having separate developments in each region.
Ha Tinh: Focus on controlling African swine fever
Recently, facing the complicated developments of African swine fever outbreaks, functional sectors in Ha Tinh have deployed many synchronous and drastic solutions to control the epidemic, according to VTV News Online Newspaper.
Since the beginning of 2025, Ha Tinh province has recorded many outbreaks of African swine fever in Cam Xuyen, Thach Ha, Huong Khe districts and Ha Tinh city, causing more than 300 pigs to become sick and have to be destroyed. Currently, localities and specialized sectors are focusing on inspecting and screening the disease, ensuring early detection, timely handling, and compliance with regulations for outbreaks.
Up to now, African swine fever in Ha Tinh has been basically controlled. No new outbreaks have occurred in most localities. Farmers are preparing conditions to be able to re-herd safely and effectively.
