Pig price today 11/5
* The live pig market in the North decreased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg last week.
Specifically, Lao Cai and Bac Giang provinces respectively reduced the price of live pigs to 51,000 VND/kg and 52,000 VND/kg.
The remaining provinces and cities still maintain the old transaction prices compared to last weekend.
Today's live pig price in the North is around 51,000-53,000 VND/kg.
* Pig prices in the Central and Central Highlands regions increased/decreased in mixed directions.
Of which, after a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, traders in Nghe An and Ha Tinh purchased live pigs at 51,000 VND/kg.
On the other hand, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Quang Binh and Thanh Hoa all increased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently trading in the range of 51,000-53,000 VND/kg, depending on the region.
Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central and Central Highlands regions is around 51,000-53,000 VND/kg.
* In the Southern region, the price of live pigs adjusted by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg compared to last weekend.
Currently, live pigs in Binh Phuoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap are being traded at 51,000-52,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
Traders in Can Tho, Kien Giang and Bac Lieu are purchasing live pigs at VND53,000/kg after an increase of VND2,000/kg.
In contrast, Ben Tre province slightly reduced the price by VND 1,000/kg to VND 51,000/kg.
The price of live pigs in the Southern region today fluctuates between 50,000-54,000 VND/kg.
* According to the General Department of Customs, meat and meat product exports increased again in the third quarter of 2023, reaching 5.78 thousand tons, worth 28.37 million USD, up 27.4% in volume and 19% in value compared to the second quarter of 2023; compared to the third quarter of 2022, up 45% in volume and 33.9% in value.
In the first 9 months of 2023, Vietnam exported 16,160 tons of meat and meat products, worth 77.85 million USD, up 28.4% in volume and 39.3% in value over the same period in 2022.
On the other hand, Vietnam's imports of meat and meat products in the third quarter of 2023 reached 195,09 thousand tons, worth 397.16 million USD, up 18.2% in volume and 21.5% in value compared to the second quarter of 2023; Compared to the third quarter of 2022, it increased by 1.8% in volume but decreased by 4.9% in value.
In the third quarter of 2023, Vietnam imported 39.41 thousand tons of pork (HS 0203), worth 98.25 million USD, up 45.5% in volume and 35.4% in value compared to the second quarter of 2023; Compared to the third quarter of 2022, it increased 23.9% in volume and 46.3% in value.
Pork imports have increased continuously since May 2023, however, the average pork import volume is only about 3%-4% of the total pork production of the country. This is a small number and not enough to affect the price of live pigs and domestic pork prices.
