(NLDO) - The contest "Touch the future with Metro" has been extended to February 18, 2025, expanding the creative theme, and awarding prizes on February 22, 2025 at Ben Thanh Station.
The Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City announced an extension of the judging and awarding time for the contest "Touch the future with Metro" to ensure thorough evaluation from the Jury and create conditions for contestants to have more time to create content.

The contest, launched by the Department of Information and Communications in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Management Board, received a great response with more than 200 participating social media accounts, nearly 700 entries, more than 16 million views and more than 5,000 articles spread across platforms, focusing on the operations, utilities and services of Metro Line 1.
According to the original plan, the contest took place from December 22, 2024 to January 20, 2025 and was expected to summarize and announce the results on January 22, 2025. However, due to the number of entries exceeding expectations and the high quality of the entries, the submission deadline was extended to 23:59 on February 18, 2025, while the results announcement and award ceremony will take place on February 22, 2025 at Ben Thanh Station and the area in front of Ben Thanh Market.
In addition, the scope and content of the contest are expanded to include topics related to tourism, trade and economy, public transport, OCOP agricultural products and digital citizen applications of the City associated with stations on Metro Line 1.
The contest is open to citizens aged 16 and above, living in Vietnam, who are passionate about content creation in the fields of video, graphic design, photography or content creation. Participants can choose to build their entries according to 15 suggested topics in the rules in formats such as short videos (Facebook Reels, TikTok), creative writing (blogs, posts), graphic design (posters, infographics, illustrations) or story-telling image series.
The "Touch the Future with Metro" contest aims to encourage creativity and innovation, especially in the fields of urban transport and future technology, and is an opportunity for contestants to express their unique ideas, contributing to building a civilized and modern city.
Metro Line 1 runs all night on New Year's Eve
Metro Line 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) will operate flexibly from January 24 to February 2 to serve people during the 2025 Lunar New Year.
Specifically, from January 24 to 28, the metro will run from 5:00 to 23:00 every day. On January 29 (the first day of Tet), the train will operate from 0:30 to 2:00 and from 5:00 to 22:00. From January 30 to February 2, the operating hours will be from 5:00 to 22:00. The number of trips and the time interval will be adjusted to suit the increased demand during Tet.
